Yesterday, the Washington Post reported that Trump privately told associates he needs better “TV lawyers” to defend him publicly from the investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
The report was based on 22 unnamed sources from the White House, Justice Department and “Trump confidants and attorneys connected to the probe.” The report comes as the Mueller probe enters its second year.
It also describes Trump as scrambling “for survival” while plotting his next moves with his newest lawyer, Rudy Giuliani. According to one confidant, the president shows frustration with the FBI raids on Cohen “as often as 20 times a day”.
It also says, “Trump gripes that he needs better ‘TV lawyers’ to defend him on cable news and is impatient to halt the ‘witch hunt’ that he says undermines his legitimacy as president.”
