It should be the other way around. How does this man keep getting voted back into office? He doesn’t seem to give a damn about his constituents. Maybe it’s the predictable idiot, you know? But we have ripped on Cruz before, and he keeps doing the same things, so there’s not much new coming from him. Except today. He’s losing his mind.
You see, Talarico is still neck and neck with Paxton. And Hinojosa is neck and neck with Abbott. Teddy thinks that Texas is being taken over by Democrats. Oh, really? Since when? It isn’t November 4th yet. Now, we blue people are doing everything we can to support them, but those 2 races are unpredictable. Well, not just those two, but we’re speaking about Texas, yes, again.
Cruz sent out a fundraising email full of panic and worry. The sky is falling, the sky is falling, Texas is going to turn blue! Yea, right, sure thing, Teddy. They need money to battle Democrat lies! But of course, Republicans *never* lie. Uh, huh. Wait! They don’t tell the truth? Well, darn.
He’s worried about the Senate majority. He’s worried about Democrats winning. He’s just worried. Bah. So for a quick interlude, here are a couple of quotes from the Raw Story article that provided me with a place to start.
“Every election cycle, the Democrats talk up their chances of flipping Texas and raise a bunch of money, only to end up falling short,” the letter reads. “But this time, it’s different – truly.” The letter casts Paxton as “fighting to SAVE our Senate Majority” and admits Republicans are “fighting an uphill battle because we lack the funds to effectively counter the Democrats’ lies and attacks on the airwaves.” The letter also looks back at Cruz’s narrow 2018 win over Democrat Beto O’Rourke. It claims “we were still the clear leader in ALL of the polls” that year, which suggests Paxton isn’t.
It also contains a prechecked box for a $100 per *month* donation. That’s a little slimy. And it’s arrogant to think that everyone will donate that amount of money every month. Are all the Republicans in Texas rich? Or did this just go out to every single Republican, because that would have been rather complex? Texas hasn’t elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1988.
This is exhausting. There are so, so many races to watch over that it’s challenging to keep track of everything. And when you can’t keep track, mistakes are made. Mistakes are embarrassing at the very least. And providing you, our readers, with inaccurate information is, well, rude. Google is your friend. A lot more checks are run these days because the memory isn’t what it used to be. Texas is being followed closely, as is Ohio. But there are many, many races where Democrats are trying to win, where it could be anything that could possibly help the country because America needs our help.
Early voting is breaking records all over the place, especially for midterms. That seems to be a positive sign, and we hope it will stay that way. I’m rambling. Goodnight.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
