Roger Stone Denies Upcoming Report Trump Knew About WikiLeaks

Roger Stone posted a video on his Instagram account denying a report that he tipped off Trump about the release of John Podesta’s stolen emails by WikiLeaks in October 2016. According to Stone, an article is coming soon from Ronan Farrow of The New Yorker. Farrow won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for his reporting on the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse accusations.

Clearly, Stone has seen an advance copy of the article before it is published and has decided to get out in front of it by posting a video to his Instagram account. He claims the forthcoming story is “fake news”, of course, by claiming that the source that Farrow is using is lying:

Somebody has been pushing a fake news story, first with the New York Times, then the Washington Post and now with Ronan Farrow of the New Yorker. Someone is saying that they overheard a conversation in which I told Donald Trump in October of 2016 what exactly would be in the WikiLeaks disclosures and when they would be disclosed.

Ronan Farrow has responded on Twitter with this:

It seems like Farrow has more to say on this topic than Stone would like us to think. It’s going to be interesting. Stay tuned.
