This guy is amazing. Yes, he started out as a comedian (and more), but he turned that into a strong, forthright, oh HELL NO President of Ukraine. Anyone who works with donations knows how much he has done. On a personal note, because it needs to be said, I have so much admiration and indirect support for President Zelenskyy. He’s amazing. Donald Trump’s boast that Russian strongman Vladimir Putin is very invested in seeing Ukraine “succeed” got a big laugh as the host of MS NOW’s “Morning Joe” noted that Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy appeared as amused at the time as they were on Monday morning. Trump’s comment was roundly roasted on social media on Sunday, and hosts Jonathan Lemire and Katty Kay joined in on the fun.
Yes, this is looking good already, and we’re not all the way there! It’s so damn cool to see that President Zelenskyy is amused by Trump as we are. He has a great sense of humor. It’s a pity he doesn’t get to show it very often, because the war they did not start is a huge burden to carry.
“Let’s just take that comment there from President Trump,” Lemire began before smirking and stating, “No, I don’t think Russian President Vladimir Putin is invested in Ukraine’s success — he’s the one who invaded in the first place.” Laughing as he continued, he remarked, “He’s the one still with aims to conquer it, and I don’t know if we have the footage or not, but there is, as Trump was saying, there was a cutaway shot of Zelenskyy’s reaction, and he almost burst out laughing. He just couldn’t believe what he was hearing.”
Someone in the media was *really* on top of things to capture that reaction. It says a lot about whoever managed it. President Zelenskyy knows precisely what he’s doing and what is going on, and he knows Trump is 99% full of it. Plus, Putin? Invested? Ha. Only if it means he takes over Ukraine. That “ain’t” happening. President Zelenskyy knows better. He goes out to the front lines with his fighters, in between asking for the support he should have had a LONG time ago. Still crabby about that here.
After Kay suggested Zelenskyy (is) doing his best to play the part of a diplomat, the bemused commentator added, “I don’t know what he means when he says that Russia is very keen for Ukraine to succeed, unless Russia is keen for Ukraine to succeed under Russia’s control, which is the way that Vladimir Putin would like it to be.”
WHAM. Exactly. It’s all hot air and, really, veiled threats under the cover of “diplomacy”. I already wrote about Trump and his nonsense yesterday. This is a continuation, so to speak. But President Zelenskyy got the first and last laugh. He shared with us his sense of humor and knowledge that Trump is full of hot air. But he still isn’t getting the support he should have. That’s the last laugh on America.

i’m not convinced that zelensky or the europeans do know that trump is 99% full of it. they seem to inexplicably continue to look to the us for aid and leadership despite all the evidence indicating that ain’t goona happen.
Ummm – Zelensky was a stand-up comedian. Now is a stand-up president. 47 will ALWAYS BE THE CLOWN.
