Trump has lusted for the Nobel Peace Prize even more than he used to over his daughter Ivanka. Every year he’s been President he’s tried just about everything to get the Nobel Committee to award it. He’s lobbied himself, gotten others to do so, bullied and even threatened. If of course hasn’t worked because he doesn’t deserve it. Trump’s hurt fee-fees over losing leads to perpetual whining, so with the U.S. hosting the 2026 World Cup the organization which like Trump has been corrupt as hell created a FIFA Peace Prize, with Trump being the first recipient. Now they are considering taking it back!
With the weekend coming up I predict an epic tweet storm or whatever you want to call his pronouncements on his own platform – which will wind up on Twitter/X. Most assuredly his butt-hurt over losing again this year (To another WOMAN. A DARK SKINNED WOMAN!) is still fresh. He’ll console himself by putting on that medal FIFA gave him and dry-humping that (probably fake) gold trophy FIFA’s Gianni Infantino gave him. Remember how Trump was so toddler-like eager he couldn’t even wait to let Infantino hang the medal around his neck. Trump snatched that sucker up when the lady brought it out and hung it around his own neck! It was a tawdry spectacle, in keeping with the tawdry origins of the prize and deciding Trump would get the very first one.
Well, the 2026 World Cup is in the books. Trump showed his ass during the presentation of the actual World Cup, hogging the stage with the winning team. Except by his fluffers here in the U.S. and a few dictator pals around the world his antics were widely criticized, and FIFA head Infantino too. In fact, his leadership and the overall sleaze surrounding him and the rest of the organization’s leadership has led to some actual soul-searching. Those in FIFA who think some changes need to be made to shore up the image and more importantly credibility of the world’s biggest sporting event are on the march.
As Newsweek reports, that FIFA Peace Prize and Trump being the one to get it is under investigation. An overall look at governance decisions made during Gianni Infantino’s presidency is underway. Now we’re being told a committee will be looking at that Peace Prize that was created and awarded to Trump last year:
Soccer’s global governing body has recently concluded meetings in Zurich, Switzerland—its international headquarters—after which the FIFA Council said it was in the process of addressing a number of issues that had arisen before, during and after the 2026 World Cup. The Peace Prize will be reviewed by FIFA’s Football Social Responsibility Committee—a review focused on its creation as well as the decision to award it to the U.S. president.
“It was decided that the Football Social Responsibility Committee will be tasked to analyze it, provide a proposal, and also, there, a decision will be taken at the next FIFA Council meeting,” Infantino said, as quoted by USA Today. FIFA said that the committee would take a decision on the future of the award in December.
Newsweek says it’s contacted both FIFA and the White House outside of regular working hours for comment. I pity the poor aide who drew the short straw to put on one of those bomb disposal blast suits when bad news has to be given to Trump. I have to wonder if Trump’s new WH press secretary will stick around after witnessing her first ketchup bottle throwing moment!
The linked article does a good job of laying out the scrutiny that took place when this whole spectacle began. Questions arose from the get-go and added to a long-standing undercurrent about the management of FIFA. They attempted to play it off as just normal stuff but questions from around the world about why FIFA would breach neutrality rules persisted. Still, as late as a few weeks prior to Trump starting the Iran war Infantino defended creating its Peace Prize and giving it to Trump. Oops.
More recently Infantino’s leadership has drawn increasing criticism and apparently things came to a head at their council meeting in Zurich. He just issued a publicly apology for secretly creating an pushing the now scrapped FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) plan. The takeaway is that more transparency is needed and a different initiative which accomplishes that has been approved. The point is that Infantino, despite the huge increase in revenues during his tenure got his wings clipped, and it seems they might get clipped even more. A hard look at that dubious Peace Prize which we all know was Infantino sucking up to Trump is to me a case of ‘it’s about damned time’ but better late than never:
During an interview with Sky News in early February 2026—weeks before the launch of the Iran war—Infantino defended the decision by arguing that Trump had been “instrumental in resolving conflicts and saving lives,” and said that he expected the U.S. president to receive a Nobel Peace Prize at some point.
However, all aspects of the prize are now being examined, FIFA officials confirmed this week.
“They will consider, first of all, how the Peace Prize came about, whether it should have come about, whether it should have been awarded in the way that it was, who made that decision and whether or not it should be taken out or whether it should be reformed,” said FIFA’s Vice President Debbie Hewitt, as quoted by the BBC.
After the meetings Hewitt told the media there were other aspects of Infantino’s work would be ‘looked into.’ However the topic here is that ridiculous Peace Prize and if FIFA really wants to rake in the money they should 1) Revoke it, and 2) send a team to take back the medal and trophy – and sell Pay-Per-View rights! That title pic where Trump grimacing (probably worried about the ribbon messing up his duckass hairdo) as puts the thing on himself doesn’t begin to show what his actual reaction would be if FIFA officials showed up and told him they were taking his undeserved hardware. I know I’d somehow cough up the money to watch that shiite-show!
I love thinking about a humiliated Trump. No Nobel Peace Prize, and his consolation prize from FIFA being invalidated. Dare we hope that in the middle of the night this weekend he’ll have such a big meltdown on Truth Social that the 25th Amendment will finally be invoked? Sadly, GOP House and Senate candidates can’t do that, and clearly Trump’s Cabinet won’t either.
Maybe we’ll be treated to Trump making a ‘bigly’ announcement that he was creating a brand new, best ever honor – The TRUMP Peace Prize. Can you imagine the bullshit he’d sling while doing so? “It will be the best Peace Prize ever!!!!! No one’s ever seen a Peace Prize like this! (at least he’d be telling the truth for once) It will be WAY bigger than that LOSER Nobel Peace Prize. I deserve a bunch of them but they won’t even give me one even though they gave Obama one! That alone proves all the fuss about their Peace Prize is just loser talk. But MY Peace Prize will be the real thing! Everyone will want one but since I’ve done more for Peace than anyone in history I’ll get the first one. And the second one. I’ll keep getting them and set a record for Peace Prizes that will never be beaten. And because it’s got MY name, nothing will compare to it!!!!
Of course, Trump wouldn’t pay a dime to endow the thing. Sadly I’m sure he could coerce a few rich folks into doing so. Trump would of course be a committee of one (himself) on deciding who gets the award each year. His only dilemna each year will be deciding whether the bigly GRAND ceremony (that every world leader will demand to come to) will be in his grand White Trump House Ballroom (is there a pool on the date Trump will rename the WH after himself?) or at Mar A Lago.
Well, while my snark mode is ramped up I’ll move on to something else. But keep an eye out because as I said odds are good that Trump will go bath!t insane when he learns FIFA has established a Committee that will determine whether it should have a Peace Prize at all, and more importantly (to him) whether he deserved to get one. Stock up on popcorn folks.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
