Maybe this is what you’re going to see more of as the 2022 election starts to ramp up. Blake Masters, who is a protege of GOP billionaire donor Peter Thiel, is pushing the Big Lie as he runs to gain the GOP nomination for the Senate race against incumbent Democrat Mark Kelly. What makes that interesting is just last week Ronna McDaniel finally went on record saying that Joe Biden had won the election fair and square. So Masters is touting a conspiracy theory that has been debunked by the Republican National Party. Never saw that one before, but politics nowadays is nothing if not full of first impressions, right?

Here’s his deflection when asked if Biden was the president:

“He was certainly sworn in, so in that sense he’s the president,” Masters said. “I don’t know what happened in the 2020 election. I don’t know what happened with all the ballots and all the certification process in the four or five key states with very tight margins. I think anyone who says they know for sure has an agenda.”

Election experts say the 2020 vote count was secure and accurate.

Masters considered challenging Republican Sen. Martha McSally last year, spooking some in the GOP who feared he would weaken the incumbent ahead of the general election, but opted against running. McSally lost to Kelly, who is now finishing the term of the late Sen. John McCain and seeking his own six-year term in office.

Attorney General Mark Brnovich, solar energy entrepreneur Jim Lamon and Michael McGuire, the former head of the Arizona National Guard, are also seeking the Republican nomination.

Kelly is a retired astronaut who rose to prominence following an assassination attempt that wounded his wife, former U.S. Rep. Gabby Giffords. He has been one of the most successful Democrats to run statewide in Arizona, defeating McSally by 2.4 points last year even as Democratic President Joe Biden won by just 0.3 points and Republicans were successful in lesser-known races down the ballot.

Again, I don’t know if this guy stands any real chance, but as I said a few days ago when Trump endorsed Dan Cox, who is cut from the same bolt of cloth as this fellow, it is frightening that these fringe type, Big Lie proponents are in the game at all. No good can come of this.

  1. Until these bastards are called what they are, traitors, we are going to suck at this politics thing. I mean think about it, there are millions of people that support these Republicans even after the total failure of the orange scum. We have to go for the wishy-washy independents. While talking about the good legislation that has gone though, talk about the many acts of treason. Screw all this bull shit about no one is ever tried for treason unless blah blah blah. The Republicans are thieving, Constitution hating racist traitors. They should quit trying to compromise with traitors. Quit acting like they are our equal. They are not. Republican voters are childish, spiteful people with a huge inferiority complex. I know. I have lived among them for most of my life and they tell me how they really feel. Quit trying to be the traditional sales man/politician. Attack, attack, attack.

    • Our nation missed a golden opportunity when the Union kicked the confederates’ a*s. Every soldier should have been at least thrown in prison for treason and every officer should have been executed. It is very, very, unlikely we’d be dealing with this sh*t now if those traitors to our nation were properly punished. Letting them go was a disastrous mistake.
