You may say I’m a dreamer. But I’m not the only one. I hope some day you’ll join us. And the world can live as one John Lennon
Let’s start with the simple stuff. For starters, Traitor Tot couldn’t purge the caller list of his cell phone with an instruction manual, and he couldn’t deconstruct one of his bacon double cheeseburgers. To Traitor Tot, the deep state means when Melania snores while she’s sleeping. The whole deconstruction of the deep state government is the brain fart of Steve Bannon, and he gave it his best shot.
To quote John Lennon, “You may say I’m a dreamer.” But from where I’m sitting, while Bannon came close with his neo-Com nihilistic dreams, we will survive him and His Lowness, as will the federal government. It was close, but no cigar.
There are two reasons why we will survive this attempt to turn our 249 year old democracy into a third rate dictatorship. First, El Pendejo Presidente if by far and away the dumbest, most clueless mofo ever to stumble his way through a wasted life. Bannon trying to explain the deep state to Emperor Numbus Nuttus was like a scientist showing a four year old how a nuclear reactor works. Since it was more complicated than a Tevo remote control, Donnie Depends lost interest in it immediately. The second reason is that even Il Douche wasn’t brain dead to put Bannon into a position where he could act freely and with total authority. And there’s an ancillary third reason too. And that’s that the voters were smart enough to give Joe Biden four years to throw a monkey wrench in the entire operation.
But the damage is already done and will continue to be done for the next three years. And once sanity returns, it will take a minimum of five to ten years to repair the damage. A part of this can be explained by confusion as to the terminology.
When Bannon bellows about the deep state, he’s talking about an evil second and third level cabal of employees who basically neuter the President and his cabinet from doing what they want. To most of us, the deep state is the pleasant, helpful lady or man on the other end of the phone when we call Social Security, Medicare, or the VA with a problem. Bannon is full of sh*t, and you are 100% correct, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
What you’re really talking about is a vast behemoth that falls under the nomenclature of civil service. But that is far more than just an army of secretaries and public contact reps. I like to say that if you take away the gun and uniform, there is no difference between a US soldier and an accountant in the Department of Labor. Both have devoted themselves to public service. Both have taken an oath to protect and uphold the Constitution of the United States. And in a lot of cases, most of them could be making a sh!tload more money in the public sector. These are selfless, unsung heroes who make our lives easier and better.
They’re also well educated and incredibly well trained. Just for instance, it’s my understanding that it will take a junior cipher clerk at the CIA or DNA a minimum of five years experience to even hope to rise to cipher clerk. After that, it’s a minimum of another five years before they can hope to become a Junior Analyst. and it goes on.
The same thing goes for the State Department. While bejeweled idjits that gave Traitor Tot tons of money and adoration can get couture ambassadorships to places like Italy, Spain, the UK, and Germany, career diplomats aren’t that lucky. Most are university educated in international affairs, world politics, and diplomacy. If they make the cut, after training they are likely to become a second trade attaché or embassy services employee at some of the worst places on earth. It’s called paying your dues. It’s also called incredibly boring, when it’s not incredibly dangerous just to leave the compound.
These are the kinds of people Traitor Tot is targeting, simply because he has no clue as to what they actually do, and that means that they are prime suspects to plot against him. And as a result, they are prime targets for the chopping block as deep state subversives. Bannon will back him up, hell, as long as people are being fired, it’s serving his purpose.
It is also hammering the affected departments with an incredible case of brain drain. I outlined a couple above, but now let’s look at a few more with more practical day-to-day applications;
- My son in law is a senior claims adjuster for a major insurance company. He has to travel. It takes years of experience to learn how to deduce the cause and extent of the damage, along with the cost of repair. The same thing goes for the adjusters, and even more importantly the supervisors of FEMA that fly to national disasters. And when you take that away, that’s when you get billion dollar contracts to some electrical company in Bumf*ck, Montana to restore the power to the island of Puerto Rico
- And look at the current mess at NOAA and the NWS. Take my word for it, there is a world pf difference between spouting out the weather report on the 6 o’clock news, and learning to precisely and accurately predict deadly storms and their likely landing zones. There are already preliminary results that extreme shortages of experienced staff at both NOAA as well as local NWS field offices hampered effective notifications to the residents of the July 6 Texas flash floods
It’s an insidious plan. By removing the upper level, experienced management, you make the entire organization weak and ineffective. And by removing the second level management, you no longer have experienced field hands to promote to those upper level positions. And by removing the second level managers, there is nobody experienced and savvy enough left to train the entry level employees for advancement. You don’t have to eliminate a department, you just have to gut it enough to make it stupid and ineffective.
Personally, I predict that if sanity returns to the White House and federal government on January 20, 2029, it will take at least a decade to undo the damage. The most critical departments will basically be rebuilding from the ground up. And especially in places like the State Department, and National Security, it’s a nightmare as our adversaries feast on our inexperience.
The last leg of the coffee table is recruiting. When we went to an all volunteer army, recruiting was a nightmare. After wasting a generation of young men in Vietnam, pretty much anybody with a pulse was wearing a uniform and saluting, few of them by choice. The armed services had to weed out the chaff, train up the talented ones and motivate them to stay, offer decent pay and bennies, and make the enlistment process stringent enough to ensure that only those who were fit to serve in a modern army got in.
Now apply that to the job force of 2029. What young man or woman with a degree in an advanced field, and job opportunities, even if motivated by public service would want to walk away from a career possibility in the private sector for government service when they know they could get sh*t canned in ten years for doing their jobs? Especially when Il Douche has given all of these departments and agencies a public black eye? You want to have pride in telling people who you work for, not duck your head in shame.
The damage is already done, and it will continue, but it’s not fatal. I can say that with no doubt whatsoever for the simple reason that I believe in this country, and its citizens.
We have picked ourselves up off the floor before, and in brighter days we will do it again. I especially draw faith and courage from the young groups like the March For Our Lives group that followed the MSD high school massacre. Another generation of young Americans will step up to pick up the pieces, fill the holes, and make life better for all Americans. It’s like the neighbor who comes over and helps you tow all your sh*t to the curb after a tornado. It’s just who we are, and what we do. F*ck you Trump, and the Bannon horse you rode in on!
I thank you for the privilege of your time.
