Rep. Lauren Boebert is feeling Democrat Adam Frisch’s breath on the back of her neck. How can I tell? She’s begging supporters to make last-minute contributions to her re-election campaign before December 1 rolls around. Boebert serves Colorado’s 3rd Congressional district, a Republican stronghold, but the situation for her here doesn’t look too good. Frisch came very close to beating Boebert during the 2022 midterms, a clear signal that Boebert has lost support among her constituents, Newsweek reports. She barely defeated Frisch by a mere 546 votes.

So no wonder she’s nervous. But she has no one to blame but herself. Her silly and embarrassing antics, such as the gross touchy-feely incident in the middle of a play turn off many conservatives. She vented her desperation on X Thursday.

“With the end-of-month deadline upon us, I’m asking each and every one of you for help ensuring my campaign has the resources to win. If we lose Colorado’s 3rd district, the house is in major jeopardy of falling into democrat hands.”

Gee, she says that like it’s a bad thing. I don’t know, Democrats might do something positive for the people of Colorado. Unlike Boebert, who has done things like introduce a ridiculous bill that would make the AR-15 the “state gun,” was one of several Republicans who nearly caused the U.S. to default on its debt, hate trans people, and call for President Joe Biden’s death.

But that’s not all Boebert had to say in her post. She blamed them “Hollywood liberals” and “dark money” from George Soros because yeah, she’s a few bricks short of an outhouse.

“My opponent has plenty of funding from soros dark money and even hollywood liberals like barbra streisand and ryan reynolds,” she complained. “i need your help. can i count on your support today for the critical november end-of-month deadline?”

So I hope Boebert continues to alienate Republicans in her district since she’s obviously so good at it.

You wouldn’t know she’s flailing if you went by what her campaign told Newsweek — that her fundraising ask was “standard for any candidate or campaign at the end of a month.”

Frisch isn’t the only candidate she needs to worry about when she runs again in 2024. Several Republicans are gunning for her seat, hoping to beat her in the primaries. This includes Jeff Hurd, who recently announced he’s running.

A Hurd spokesperson told Newsweek that the only reason Frisch is doing so well against Republicans in the third district is because Boebert is on the ticket. His campaign argues that Boebert’s name is driving grassroots donors from blue states to get involved with the Colorado election.

This is interesting too, since this district leans Republican by seven points, according to the Cook Political Report, which now categorizes the race as a “toss-up.”

Hurd is concerned, and as a progressive, I couldn’t be happier.

“Every Republican should be disappointed and worried with all the out-of-state liberal money flooding into the district,” his campaign told Newsweek. “Unfortunately, our current representative is directly responsible for the liberals of california and new york to come in and buy the colorado 3rd. it is because of her divisive rhetoric, distracting public antics,a nd lack of attention to the district we are even in this position.”

This is good news because Boebert still has plenty of time to dismay and embarrass Republicans. Frankly, this is one of the few things lately that has me feeling optimistic.

Frisch blew through records during the last fundraising quarter, collecting more than $3.38 million during the third quarter and more than 99 percent of these contributions were from individual donors. This figure is nearly four times the amount Boebert has been able to raise. Campaign filings reveal the congresswoman raised just over $853,840 in the third quarter.

It looks like Hurd isn’t doing too bad either. He announced his candidacy in mid-August, having raised $412,468. That may not seem like much, since it’s only half of what Boebert has raised, he collected it in half the amount of time.

Boebert noted last month that she was confident her campaign would get the necessary resources to “win in 2024” and thanked supporters “who have stood by me and continued to support our grassroots-led campaign.”

“Our fundraising has always been powered by the working-classing families of rural colorado,” she said at the time.

So I hope those “working-class families are becoming fed up with Boebert. It’s looking more and more like her days in Congress are numbered and that’s the best news I’ve heard all week.

  1. Barbara Streisand used to have a home/property in CO-she did live there (I don’t know what portion of her time was spent there). That could make her a constituent (I don’t know where her home was located-rich as she is, likely in Aspen or some place like that). Point is, Babs might be paying property taxes in CO so bobo the clown’s little diatribe ought to be drawing some ire from other Coloradans. I imagine either a municipality, country, and/or the state benefits immensely from folks paying large sums in property taxes. If those types of folks take offense, they might just take their money elsewhere. No community would appreciate that.

The other thing someone needs to drive thru the nitwit’s skull is this: citizens of the U.S. are allowed to contribute to election campaigns and thanks to the s.c. bobo thinks is just so super, folks can contribute boo-coo amounts to PACS. She might like George Soros or Babs, but both are citizens eligible to make these contributions.

    • To your last bit, I have to agree. I’d certainly like to take a look at who’s been financing Boebert and Mr Hurd, as well (since he’s also having a bit of a fit about the money from “liberals from California and New York”) because something kind of tells me that they’re both raking in donations from out-of-state folks and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised that much of their money is coming from out-of-state special interest groups and right-wing PACs.
