This is still an open wound and a great controversy amongst Democrats. We had a terrible year in 2024. The battle started up in March after Joe Biden did an admittedly disastrous debate. However, elections are not won due to presidential debates. That has never been the case and likely never will be. But that March misstep got the wolves slavering and everybody was out to get Uncle Joe. And maybe if, at that point, a primary would have been held and something different happen, we would not have ended up with the debacle one year ago today, July 21, 2024, when Joe finally stepped down. Here is an interview with Hunter Biden. It’s three hours long so you may want to come back to it.

I’m including every administration in my lifetime, we had gotten more done for the agenda of the things that your generation and my generation cared about than any president in history, and we didn’t get it all done. We, me and James Carville, who hasn’t run a race in 40 fucking years, and David Axelrod, who had one success in his political life, and that was Barack Obama. And that was because of Barack Obama, not because of f*cking David Axelrod and David Plouffe and all of these guys and the Pod Save America guys who were junior f*cking speech writers in Barack Obama’s senate staff who’d been dining out on the, on the relationship with him or years making millions of dollars.
The Anita Dunns of the world who’s made $40, $50 million off the Democratic Party, they’re all gonna insert their judgment over a man who has figured out, unlike anybody else, how to get elected to the United States Senate over seven times. How to pass more legislation than any president in history, how to have a better midterm election than anybody in history, and how to garner more votes than any president that has ever won, and they’re gonna replace their judgment for his.

The consequence of kicking Biden off the ticket was that many Biden voters didn’t vote in key swing states. Democratic turnout was down in 2024, and so far, the party has done less than nothing to repair trust and the relationship with Joe Biden voters.
The elites won’t take responsibility or admit the problem.
Hunter Biden is angry. The Biden family is probably angry. Unless Democrats want to keep losing future elections, they need to rebuild trust with some key voting groups, but Joe Biden wasn’t the only person that the elites stabbed in the back in 2024.
My feeling at the time was that we don’t change horses in midstream. And the real problem is that Joe ran for reelection at all. Timing is everyhing and if he had said that he was passing the torch and we had a primary, then we might have had a different result.
We will never know. Any time you contemplate the road not taken, it’s all speculation. But we do know that the party got fractured last summer and even with that we still only lost by 1.5%.
I understood Joe Biden’s reasoning for running again. At the time he was doing well and had a stellar track record in the job. But age and stress made itself known at the March debate. And then everybody lost faith. They forgot the killer SOTU which had taken place only two months earlier and everybody wanted to hang Joe for the debate. So we ended up where we ended up. And now we have the biggest bum to throw his hat in any political ring back in office. May God help us get through it.

With an intense co-ordinated campaign from the billionaire owned media focussing on his age and the tiniest slip-up, it was inevitable – specially after that debate performance, (just go and look at it again.).
What is more surprising, and is increasingly being commented on by the general public is why even half the level of scrutiny at the increasingly demented and dementia-ed Dimwit Donny.
