Became weaker, did not push, wimp, soft, brought the wrong kind of might to the fight, just …. Became not what he was but what now he is. What happened? Again I/we ask, what happened? How could you have turned 180% of what you used to be, and definitely not what you should have been? What you *could have* been? You learned a good façade. You seemed to be in the fight and right up there but it was the façade.
Thanks to Alternet for giving me a jumping-off point. I’m writing from a different viewpoint this time. Merrick, why did you come to the fight with nothing? Why did you fall under tRumps spell and do this and that which made no sense? You were head of the JUSTICE DEPARTMENT, for heaven’s sake. You aren’t part of the AG list yet, but in terms of bad news, you should be in it. Really now, HOW did you suck up to everyone just at the right time to make whoever it is happy? WHY didn’t you get the Special Counsel in place sooner? If you had, there’s a good chance we would have someone else as President *instead of* the Mango Mandarin. Remember the word conviction? That could have been done BEFORE the election. Before.The.Election.
I’m having a tough time restoring my faith in you after that huge, huge blunder. And it WAS huge. We could have had a better President than the one getting sworn in on Monday. The good thing is that although he is getting sworn in, I am both laughing, and yet I feel a teeny bit bad for all the MAGAs who made this huge trip for something they won’t get to see. Yea, that kinda sucks. Yet it’s so typical of the Cheesy Poof Traitor Tot to not care what is happening to “his” people. People who believe what they are told. I’m hoping this will create a backlash across the MAGA-ites but not really expecting anything to happen.
Back to the Merrick questions. Why, Merrick, why? Why did you slow walk the most important case of your career? Why did you let it be delayed again and again, finally bringing us to the point where tRump could win without winning? First with Judge Aileen Cannon who was appointed by him, and did ridiculous things with her case, and she got pushback from the Appeals court, but not enough? And secondly with the absolute and partial immunity, for different things, by the Supreme Court, which dragged on for days and days, and then no matter what Jack had it was too late to prosecute before the election. That pissed me off, Merrick. That’s when I got into the “WHAT HUH WTF” part of you. Something that SHOULD have happened and should have been brought to trial, but you pussyfooted around too much for it to GET TO A TRIAL. You took too long. Plain and simple, you took too long. That’s not going to look good in the history books. “Took too long to bring a case to trial”. But Jack still had enough evidence to have brought it to a trial!!!!!!!! And certainly, it would have brought a conviction!
Oh, you looked good, handling other cases with efficiency and aplomb. They were some pretty important cases too. You did bring about 1500 cases to court that were part of the insurrection, but you had small fish when you needed an orca whale. Jack was a superb prosecutor but you handcuffed him by moving too slowly. Yet he still had the option to prosecute, even with the SCOTUS verdict, if you hadn’t taken so long.
You resigned from your position. There are many answers we should have had but won’t. I still wish you the best, Merrick. At least you got a few things done. Enjoy what I would guess is your retirement.

We are standing at the entrance to HELL. Tomorrow all of us will enter with NO CLEAR WAY OUT. In Dante’s little story about his tour of HELL, he noted the inscription over the entrance: Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here. Biden and Garland have brought us here. I’m not saying they are evil. In fact, both seem like decent men, unlike our new dictator. Yet, it was their blindness, timidity, belief in our beauracracy, and their egos that have brought us here. No matter now. We are where we are. I know the feeling well…I’ve lived it all my childhood. The challenge is to push through the bad days. I used to tell my daughters, when they were growing up…if you want to see a sunny day…you have to go through the rainy ones. Giving up is not an option. Giving in is not an option. If anyone thinks so…just go order a Maga hat and join the side that has the upper hand. When I was unjustly sent to the penitentiary, I had fears, bad moments, and times of feeling all alone in my predicament. I practiced remembering I WASN’T alone…there were people who knew the truth and were working to get me out. The time has arrived where all the good people of America need to remember we’re in this fight together, especially when it gets darker, and it will. The funny thing about injustice is it sometimes leads to better things than if it never happened. I have wonderful daughters, and I would never had them in my life if my imprisonment hadn’t altered the path I was on. I’ve tried to remind my children that bad things, wrong things, unfair things DO happen. Yet…sometimes they lead to wonderful things that wouldn’t have happened without them. It’s a mystery how anything goes the way it does, but I try to remember that lesson.
