Okay, who gave Trump this latest crazy idea? He wants to add some things to his arch that make less than no sense. Yes, that’s not possible, but you get the point. He’s gone mad and wants to add drones and snipers to the arch. Really? Yes, really. This is nuts! Why in the hail would we need something like that on a monstrosity that’s already going to block the proper view of some really important things? The Washington Monument, Reflecting Pool aka Trump’s Pond and Arlington are supposed to be viewable in a straight line. That’s going to be ruined. And your writer is worried about all the construction vehicles and lots of potential danger to Arlington. Trump doesn’t care. They’re “losers and suckers,” so it doesn’t mean a damn thing to him.
He’s screwed up so much of DC, uncaring about the losses from his vanity projects, that he’s spending gazillions of taxpayer money on. Yup, we’re paying for everything now, so he can do whatever he wants because it’s not *his* money being spent. Were the “private donations” a lie from the beginning? In hindsight, when the ballroom started “exploding” with additional this and that, it had to come out of our pockets. And now the triumphal arch is getting out of hand.
But it’s not a concern for Trump. He doesn’t care that it’s coming out of our pockets and hurting us with inflation, food prices shooting up, outrageous gas prices, and so forth. Will a sane president tear it all down, assuming we get Trump out of office? Or even fix the Reflecting Pool, starting with taking the stupid paint and liner off, then look at replacing the water system? Will we be able to tear down the arch, at least?
Trump wants his place in history. He will be remembered for the bad things. He’s trying to put his name on everything. He’s building a ballroom (999 people, good gods) and a triumphal arch with drones and snipers (are they really going to have to sit in that thing 24/7?) that are of no use? Will the damn banners everywhere be taken down? And the worry about what he’s trying to do to the Kennedy Center and its campus?
Panic is not going to do us any good. We need to plan and think through possible ways to block him from destroying the Kennedy Center and anything else he wants, and the list is growing. We need to have free and fair elections to take over the House and possibly the Senate. We need to use the courts to stall him as long as possible, before he wrecks something else.

“At the strong request of the United States Military, and for National Security purposes, I have agreed to convert the magnificent Triumphal Arch, planned since the Civil War Era many years ago, at the Receptive Circle adjoining the Arlington Memorial Bridge, into a top-grade Military Complex/Triumphal Arch,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “[The arch will be designed] to house, store, and have the rapid ability to use large numbers of drones, plus Snipers, on both the roof and plaza areas, and additionally have and hold large quantities of sniper ammunition in storage. There will be no facility like this anywhere in the World.”
Oh, come on now. Since the Civil War? Give us a break. Lies, lies, and more lies. That’s blatantly untrue. It’s his arch. The military could not have asked for such a thing. Perhaps Hegseth suggested it. But no, it’s only been planned this year by Trump. Supposedly, this thing is being built to honor the significance of Arlington Cemetery, except the view, as it should be, is going to be partly obscured by this thing. We’ve seen multiple reports about it.
He’s trying to push it through before midterms. But considering what he wants to add with drones and snipers, the blueprints are going to need to be completely redone. That’s not something you can rush. They’ll need at least one bathroom for the snipers. Was that considered? And if they do rush the construction, that has a lot more potential for something to be done wrong, and it would become dangerous. Trump isn’t thinking about that because Trump doesn’t care. It’s his arch, and he wants it done ASAP. It may need to be torn down anyhow if the workmanship turns out to be shoddy.
He’s added an eternal flame, bigger than the ones the Kennedys have. Now he’s adding snipers, ammunition for said snipers, and drones. It’s going to be monstrous, just like the damn ballroom. And if he gets into the Kennedy Center, whatever he puts in its place would be god-awful. At least his face can’t be carved into the rock face with the others. He seems to have let that one go. It’s something small, but worth remembering. It’s unnerving to think about the “big things”, as it is. What’s he going to wreck next?
