DEI is getting rather forcefully removed from all sorts of place – military, government, the list goes on. Seems like they want to take us back to before that was a thing. It’s excessive. Very excessive – but if you’re reading this, you likely agree. I had a great time working with DEI. I learned soooooooo much! And it was fun, to boot! I likely couldn’t do that at my previous position anymore. I’m trying to understand this and not having much luck.
Heh. The Cheeto Prophet says it promotes harmful ideological programs. He wants to go back to a merit-based hiring. I’m not sure how well that’s going to work. If he’s pulling the DEI departments out of everywhere he can, there aren’t going to BE any programs. So that’s a bit of a pisser. Can’t apply for something that doesn’t exist anymore. And this is all done by Executive Orders. Yay.
There was nothing wrong with DEI and a lot of good. It meant finding more talent that might have been overlooked. It meant breaking the glass walls *and* ceiling. It meant a more diverse group of people working together where everyone’s input is valuable.
In the end, I guess it’s all about power, and the Mango Mandarin wants all the power he can get. By yanking out all of DEI he can re-shape things into HIS world, not the REST of the world. His world is taking over the US, and we’re actually already seen signs that he’s started on the rest of the world. This Gaza strip thing … ugh. And he can’t see how wrong it is. WE can but he can’t. I think it’s one of those willfully blind things but then we know he can’t think. I’m getting more annoyed than surprised with his nonsense. So I’m making progress there, at least.
But really, nothing wrong with DEI and much that is right with it. I think it made a lot of difference in the US and now to have it ripped out by the roots angers me. Progress? What progress? We have none now. We have none. We’re reverting. And really, that’s just sad.

Well, I hate to tell ya, Susan, but it’s worse than you think! It is really hard to keep up with this coup, but Sphincter Face is not just erasing DEI, he is erasing U.S. history on a grander scale! Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who should be all over the globe talking with allies and adversaries alike, hasn’t really had the chance. #47 told him to take over USAID…right AFTER the Nazi “put it in the wood chipper!” So, Rubio had to put a J6 criminal on to run USAID because SecState doesn’t have time for this! But, at least USAID is in Rubio’s wheelhouse. But now, the Big Sphincter put SecState in charge of the National Archives!! Two big reasons come to mind. First is the revenge tour because, of course, it was the Archives fault #45 got in trouble for taking records he shouldn’t have taken and #47 is still pissed!! Second is to rewrite and/or eliminate giant swaths of our history!! The Big Lie(s) has been successful, but why do the hard work of lying when you can simply erase what you had to lie about?! This is what EVERY tyrant has done!! Re-educarion camps will soon brainwash those who remember history and young people will learn only the “history” that the dictator wrote!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Actually, the statement that there is nothing wrong and only good with DEI is inaccurate. DEI has reached a point where, in order to help people who need assistance—such as those from minority groups—it is now done at the cost of punishing those who are not considered part of a diversity group.
Essentially, helping those in need has turned into punishing those who don’t need help, under the assumption that they must have done something wrong if they don’t require assistance.
DEI has shifted toward seeking vindication against those who are not part of a diversity group. We should first address the claim that DEI is purely good.
Hi Tom! You really made me think. I can agree that it’s not all good but it did do some good in terms of helping minorities. I’ll have to answwer the rest of this later as I need to do some more thinking before I continue 🙂
I find it ironic that Trump wants to do away with DEI and claiming to want “merit-based hiring” when there’s not a single person that he’s appointed to any office that is a “merit-based” hire. Their SOLE qualification was “loyalty to Trump and willingness to eat his sh*t”
