He didn’t use to be a slavering sycophant for Trump. He used to have morals. He used to be a pretty good guy, which is part of why this is so dismaying. But since being in the Trump ‘maladministration’, he’s gone screamingly downhill. Pretty sure it started when he went to see Ghislaine. He talked with her for two days, and then suddenly she was moved to a plush prison (that she could walk out of) and a personal retinue. All her needs are taken care of, and everyone else in the prison has been told in no uncertain terms to stay away from her. Now isn’t that something? Now you see why and when this thing happened, we know that it was the start of the mess. And Blanche is turning into Trump’s personal DoJ. How the mighty do fall. With appreciation for Raw Story:
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche will need to provide the right answers on one certain topic if he expects the Senate to confirm his position as chief of the Justice Department, a former federal prosecutor argued Sunday. Joyce Vance, a former U.S. attorney appointed by former President Barack Obama, appeared on MS NOW Sunday morning to reveal the reasons Blanche might prove unable to present himself as a trustworthy attorney general. “He made those promises during his confirmation hearing to be the deputy,” said Vance. “He said he wouldn’t let political considerations enter the calculation at his Justice Department. And then he did exactly the opposite of that.”
He’s all about the politics and the presentation. Gotta make himself look good, have to make Trump look good, although the latter requires about a metric ton of effort to manage. He seems to be using his law background for the wrong things, but he’s using it. But things have been pretty sticky recently, so he’s had to do a lot of fast talking and deflecting. Blanche does not have the best spine. He gets flustered when he can’t answer a question immediately. The media needs to keep hammering on him. He’s going to slip. We don’t yet know how big a slip it will be.
To prove her point, Vance pointed to Blanche’s decision last week to haul FBI Director Kash Patel into the White House and order him to investigate New York Times reporting on President Donald Trump’s $4 million Qatari jet. Reporters linked to the story that so “embarrassed” the president were subsequently issued subpoenas. “That’s not how the Justice Department should operate,” said Vance. “It’s so bad.” This is just one among a litany of moves the Justice Department has made that have raised the specter of political bias, Vance argued.
Yep, hauling Kra$h into this was not a good idea. He thinks he knows and owns the FBI. H does not. He keeps reminding us he’s a buffoon. He’s useless, and he’s made bad choices with the FBI- very bad. We still don’t know how many agents have been fired or have left, but a lot of talent is gone. Plus, are there still 1,000 agents redacting the Epstein files? That little bit of news seems to have slipped by a lot of people. Pity, because it’s definitely relevant. But Blanche brought Kra$h to the White House to question him and give him something to do ASAP. And we can’t be sure what bugs are hidden in the Qatari jet either. There are any number of things that could be hidden in there.
And those decisions will all come under scrutiny from Judiciary Committee senators who remain undecided about whether to confirm Blanche’s nomination on Wednesday, as was reported Sunday by the New York Times. “Just a single no vote from a Republican would deadlock the committee and effectively sink the confirmation of Mr. Blanche, who became the Justice Department’s acting leader after Pam Bondi was fired in April,” the Times reported. “That gives Republicans on the panel rare leverage to extract concrete concessions from Mr. Blanche.”
Vance then revealed the “important thing” to watch will be how Blanche answers senators’ questions when it comes to the release of information about one issue in particular: The files about Jeffrey Epstein. “The way the Epstein files release was mishandled, protecting predators, protecting perpetrators, and disclosing information about survivors?” she said. “Blanche has a lot to answer for.”
He most certainly does. He should do some studying before the hearing. Look at what Blondi did right or wrong. Look at what Trump told her to do, what he may have to continue. CYA because these are not going to be easy questions. He may dance and shuffle and accuse of everything that’s been learned from Trump. It doesn’t work for Trump, and it won’t work for Blanche.
See you soon!
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
