Wouldn’t it be easier to strip the garbage off the bottom surface and have it done correctly by an actual contractor, not some nepo hire? How much more of our money is Trump going to use on this disaster? They could have worked on cleaning the pipes for the water supply and otherwise left it alone! First, the poorly done “American Flag Blue” was not necessary. The lining was done incorrectly before painting.
Next, add the lining peeling up; Trump was claiming it was vandals, and people were getting arrested for nonsense. You note all the cases have been thrown out of court in some form or fashion. Trump conveniently forgets that there are cameras on that thing 24/7. And with all the fuss he made about the Pool, why did they use it as part of the fireworks? That means a double cleanup!
Yes, there has been much ranting about this. It’s something else that has *nothing* to do with Trump, so he had to change it and ruin it. It was beautiful as it was, even with an ongoing algae battle. But they didn’t think of *that* first. The water supply needs to be cleaned. That does not mean paint it; just clean it! But no, Trump wanted it blue as the sad excuse for a 250th birthday celebration, which was a Trump Rally, and a poorly done one. It could have been SO much better, and that hurts. History will not look back on Trump kindly.

Trump’s baseless claims that vandals caused the damage fell apart in court documents in which U.S. attorney Jeanine Pirro said evidence shows it had been the result of hasty work. On Wednesday, freelance photographer Joe Flood posted video of the pool and reported, “Sealant is coming up in chunks.” Meanwhile, the president keeps insisting the destruction was permanent, and he quoted an Interior Department official to claim repairs were near completion.
Trump doesn’t have a toe to stand on, let alone a leg. It was one of his last-minute ideas that had to be done in a hurry, and we saw what happened. Then there’s the cost going up, up, and up for a no-bid contractor. Lest we forget, heat was a big part of the problem, too! There was so much that was wrong about this. It should have been cleaned and left alone. What’s the big deal about not just blue, but American Flag Blue? Please. It looked a little too light to be the blue of our flag.
Here we are with yet another thing that will have to be fixed and done *properly*. Let’s most sincerely hope it will revert to what it’s supposed to be, with a better water-handling system. This is beyond ridiculous. How much of what Trump has done will need to be fixed? The list keeps growing and probably will until he leaves office, however that happens. Please make it soon.
