This is a likable theory because he knows his stuff and he knows what to do. Remember his stint in Transportation? Mr. Buttigieg kicked it up, down, and sideways. He is extremely knowledgeable and well-spoken. And wouldn’t it just freak out the Republicans? The more consideration given to it, the better an idea it becomes. He’d be one helluva improvement over Mikey Johnson.
The Speaker does not *have* to be a member of Congress. If you recall, after Kevin McCarthy was evicted, at one point they were considering putting Trump in as Speaker. Fortunately, that didn’t happen because it would have been “disaster incoming”!!! Let’s just skip merrily past that little episode, shall we?
Mr. B also has experience in other ways, not just Biden’s administration. Remember “Mayor Pete”? He was an intelligence officer in the US Navy. He is more than qualified to do such a thing. And Trump would have a hard time dealing with him, which would be a bonus. He has an impressive background and experience, which you can find on Wikipedia.
Here are a couple of quotes from Raw Story:
Miles Taylor wrote, “Democrats should consider turning the tables.” He pointed to Jared Kushner’s recent meeting with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries as a sign that Trump is “terrified” of losing the House and being investigated. His plan would keep Jeffries as majority leader running daily operations, while making the former Transportation secretary the public face of sweeping probes into what Taylor called “the most corrupt administration the nation has ever seen.” “He holds no office and would have to give up nothing,” Taylor wrote of Buttigieg. “He is one of the best communicators the party has produced in a generation.” The 2020 presidential candidate, he argued, has spent years dismantling hostile interviewers on live television, precisely the skill that brutal hearings would demand.
Come to think of it, he’s pretty much unflappable. There is not a single time within memory when he was not calm, cool, collected, and well-spoken. Maybe we should take lessons from him. You know that if a reporter is questioning Trump and Trump gets mad, the cooler someone is when talking makes Trump even madder, which is rather humorous to see.
No need to go on and start being repetitive. Pete Buttigieg for Speaker. Sounds good.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
