Fox News has Herschel Walker leading over Raphael Warnock in the polls by three points. That’s as of yesterday. As well you know, that’s within the statistical margin of error, so they could be in a dead heat.

Even that is remarkable to contemplate, because Walker is such a doofus. If the people of Georgia want to self-immolate, and maybe they do, then I suppose they could elect this clown.

Here is his explanation of what 9/11 was all about.

Uh…yeah…countries that would attack us are, generally speaking, countries that don’t believe in us. That’s safe to say, yep. Maybe if Walker doesn’t get elected to the Senate he could teach the philosophy of war, Sun Tzu and all that.

“Herschel is looking good—a shining star for Georgia,” Trump said on Friday. If this is Georgia’s shining star I would hate to see what her darkest night looks like.

Since you’re here, you get to enjoy — or endure, take your pick — more bon mots from Herschel Walker.

Here’s another gem.

Indian American, American Indian, whatever man. Same diff, right?

Democracy is in serious trouble if an intellectually stunted, morally deficient, clearly mentally ill man like this can even get this far in the political process. If he wins, Georgia will have an imbecile in the Senate to match the one they now have in the House.

If you have friends or relatives in Georgia, do your best to persuade them to vote. Please. This guy isn’t capable of reading a law, let along making a law. If this is what is making laws in America, then we need to bend over and kiss our collective ass goodbye.

  1. I keep saying it, and many of my fellow liberals can’t bring themselves to believe it but Walker has ALWAYS been in a position to win that Senate seat. The driver’s seat in fact. For one simple and incredibly STUPID reason. He led the Georgia Bulldogs to a national title in football decades ago. Big football star. Second only in popularity in that bible thumping state to Jesus. I’m not kidding, for years there and now more recently it’s stunning how many Georgia voters (and not just white ones) would, if both Jesus and Walker were in town for a couple of hours and they could only meet one would choose Walker. Many of the ones who’d choose Jesus would have (or would today) think long and hard about it.

Football is a religion down in that part of the country. Even in states like GA that have pro sports college football is king. Has been since long before I was born. They say in those parts the top two sports are football (and it’s a given they mean college football) and spring football, that six weeks of college teams practicing in the spring and the intrasquad team game. It doesn’t matter how fucked up in the head Walker is, his exploits on the football field for the state’s flagship university made him a god down there long ago. Frankly, while others have chuckled from early on about how idiotic the GOP was to let his candidacy happen as he made gaffe after gaffe and piled outrageous statement upon outrageous statement I’ve been worried. Because he was a fucking football star!

Think of it this way. Remember the disgust and even over many comments outrage from Trump starting with his ride down the escalator to the paid to be there crowd? My oh my did we all, and especially comedians have a ton of fun. He was dismissed by 99 percent (including Republicans) as a freak side show. Even as he picked up momentum regular folks and experts kept saying it wouldn’t last, that his candidacy would implode.

Things didn’t work out that way not did they? And when people said there was no way in hell he could ever win in the general election, he was always much closer in polling than anyone would have figured. Worse, appalling as it was that so many voted for him even more did last time!

Don’t for one second think Warnock has this race locked up. Yes, Warnock is well known in Georgia. Widely admired and respected. BUT, unlike Walker he wasn’t a college football star who led the state’s main school to a national championship. You might not want to accept it, but the race has always been Walker’s to lose and I for one have never felt that unless/until the votes are counted and Warnock has won by an amount that can’t be contested we won’t see Walker stumbling through the U.S. Senate. It is WAY more of a possibility than many want to contemplate, much less admit is a true possibility.

    • If so…it’s an indictment of the shallow stupidity of the American public. No doubt about it. I believe Churchill once quipped if you want to know the problem with democracy, just spend five minutes talking to the average voter.

  2. I never realized lying Nikki was from India. You are on point about us as a culture. We need a revolution. Not one with guns. One with knowledge & uncomfortable truths. Darwin was correct about survival of the fittest. Unfortunately the false conclusion was that WE would be the species left standing. All hail the mighty cockroach.

  3. How can Bartiromo sit there with a straight face? Does she really believe this dufus should be elected? At least she’s giving him a platform to expose his ignorance but then, as Denis pointed out above, Georgians don’t care. They love their football heroes the way all MAG-gots love their false god idol. It’s truly frightening.

  4. Not doubting the “football love” and everything but I’d be EXTREMELY suspect of any poll that Fox “News” reports. The network has a tendency to “shop around” for polls (and then cherry-pick the numbers) that favor their candidates.

I clicked on the link and found out that (A) the poll still shows both men under 50% and (B) the margin of error is ±4.7%. And while the poll is from the “local Fox affiliate,” most of an affiliate’s news material is strictly done to fall in line with the Fox “News” dictates.

  5. I’m thinking that Mr. Walker is a walking talking indictment of how college sports will let you go to college if you can play one of the ball sports really well regardless of your gpa or wherever you fall on the scholastic scale, even at the bottom! Then again, I cannot recall ever hearing him speak during his playing years as a Cowboys when I was a definite fan. Was there a reason for that or did he just get hit in the head too many times and got his brain rattled? I don’t know but I can’t shake the feeling that Herschel has already been set up as a propaganda tool and is being set up to be a puppet for both Georgia republicans and the gop congressional caucus should he actually win this election. If the unthinkable happens I’ll be interested to see his first piece of legislation.
