Holy credibility, Batman! It looks like Sean Hannity has egg on his face — and on his shirt and on his lap and all over the studio. Why? Because Trumpty Dumpty fell off the wall and broke and now the GOP is the biggest yoke, I mean joke, in town.

This 2022 midterm election was pivotal. Mark my words, you are going to see some seismic changes as a result of this election. It can be no other way. You’ve already seen how the polls were ridiculous and not in tune with the actual thought processes, not to mention voting intentions, of the electorate. And the press is in a world of hurt. As I wrote a few days ago, and please read this piece if you didn’t already, on how the press has to rise to a new day or perish, we have to make changes in how elections are covered or we are going to be in for nothing but surprises.

Sean Hannity is now tasked with mopping up this unholy mess. He actually claims that he doesn’t know where the notion of a red wave came from. Luckily, the Washington Post knows exactly where it arose and is rubbing his face in it, gleefully, I daresay.

I may need heart medication if this keeps up. Either the hypocrisy will kill me or maybe I’ll just die laughing. My Gawwwd these people are incredible.

Yes, friends, it gets worse. The Republican modus operandi is that it gets worse and this is true to form. Sean Hannity is now doing a complete 180 spin. Red wave? What red wave? Watson, have you seen a red wave? No, Sir, there’s no red wave on Sean Hannity’s show. He’s been talking about close calls all along. You must have dreamt the red wave, that’s it.

Hit the link in my tweet because this you have to see this clip to believe it. I can only speculate that Rupert had a talk with Sean and said, “I pay you $30 million a year. Get our credibility back.”  And there’s more from the Daily Beast:

Sean Hannity is out here trying to find the guy who did this.

Four days before Tuesday’s midterm elections, the Fox News star took to Twitter to promote a segment on his primetime show that featured a couple of conservative pollsters forecasting dominant GOP victories in both the House and Senate.

“RED TSUNAMI COMING?” Hannity posted on Friday night, hyping the “latest polling” from polling firm Trafalgar. “Is a red tsunami on the way?”

The night after the election, which saw Republicans wildly underperform expectations, the conservative primetime host played dumb, telling viewers he can’t seem to figure out the origin of the notion that the GOP would crush the midterms.

“I can’t say for sure whether rumors of the red tsunami started because polls in almost every key race were within the margin of error, mostly only one or two points,” Hannity said at the top of his show Wednesday night. “The glowing predictions of a big red wave were frankly foolish. I have a rule in life: Never overpromise and underdeliver. You want to underpromise and overdeliver.”

Tell that to Donald Trump, Sean — assuming, you and he ever speak again, which looks questionable at this point.

In the final analysis, it was a red tinkle. Most of us can pi$$ a better wave than the Republicans generated this election cycle.

I said earlier that the press would have to rise to the new day, meaning the legitimate press. Well, guess what? The propaganda channels are going to have to do something, too, to stay in business.

Speaking of which, here are two clips of Steve Bannon predictions which are laughable. Is he going to keep making money being this wrong? Must be nice.

A lot of walking back to do. I hope these clowns are wearing comfortable shoes.

I like my original name for the 2022 midterms: 2001 Mules: A Space Cadet Odyssey. Oh, and where is D’Souza these days? Shooting principal photography on a sequel? Looking at the poor house? Both?

  1. And the news keeps getting better on the overall trendline. Per the stats, the Gen Z voters totally neutralized every over 65 voter who showed up. The next generation has arrived and that can only spell trouble for the GOP for the rest of the decade and beyond.

  2. Once again I’ll quote an oft used line Jon Stewart would use on The Daily Show when he was nailing some conservative to the wall – “Haven’t these assholes ever heard of videotape?” Well, I expect this kind of bullshit from Faux Nooz and their prime time “stars” but there’s a lot of the “talent” on mainstream outlets with egg all over their faces too! Even if not as blatantly as Fox they said we were looking at a red wave, and if when only implying said “talent” had on guests blatantly talking Red Wave and offered little if any pushback.

    • I haven’t seen mainstream media get something this wrong since damn near every mainstream movie critic miss the boat on the first Matrix movie. In case you’re wondering how bad that is, it’s the definition of “epic fail”. The folks who got it backwards will likely try to double down for the next couple of years but it’ll just speed up whatever shakeup is inbound.

  3. Bannon needs to be institutionalized before he hurts himself. The guy has become completely unhinged.

Hannity has done his flip-flopping thing more times than I can count certainly. One would think he’d realize by now there are recordings of him saying the stupid-ass shit he says. Still, I guess he wouldn’t be a con or working for faux nuz if he weren’t an idiot.

    • Steve Bannon is following a boozier, more prosecution-laden version of Karl Rove’s path to irrelevance. Sean Hannity may well be doing the same vis-a-vis the one walked by Bill O’Reilly (or as Al Franken once called him, Bill O’Lie-ly). The great lie of conservatism is that you can freeze things in place forever. **Scoff** What a crock…nothing works that way. And if nothing else, 2022 has been emphasizing that lesson by collectively dismantling the worst people on this planet.

  4. Indicted ,arrested , found guilty , sentenced to jail ,not in jail ,still taking about his innocence, still not in jail ….is there a punch line coming with this joke ?
