Pete Hegseth wanted a priceless museum piece. Specifically a favorite globe Eisenhower used during WWII. It was part of a museum collection at the Pentagon but self-proclaimed ‘Warrior Pete’ wanted it in his office. Curators trained in handling delicate museum artifacts weren’t available so he ordered aides to go get the thing. He wanted it NOW so they did what they were told. They DROPPED it, causing significant damage!
It’s ruined, all because Petey Boy wasn’t content cosplaying Patton. He wanted to be able cosplay Patton’s boss, General Eisenhower who led us to victory in the European theater in WWII and would go on to become President. I have to wonder if sometimes he swaps out his bronzer for Trump’s orange gunk and cosplays being Commander-in-Chief…
Frankly, until now I hadn’t heard anything about this. Hegesth and his people leak like sieves (Signal Gate ring a bell?) but it turns out when he really, really wants to keep a secret, like covering up causing a piece of history to be broken he can clamp down pretty good. Of course, most stupid things eventually get revealed and thanks to reporting by The Independent the whole cluster f**k is now out in the open. With pictures which even when news first slipped out Hegseth tried like hell to cover up. So what happened and why? Well, it’s about what you’d expect from a KKKlown like Pete Hegseth:
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wanted the world – but it shattered in a rush to get it to him.
President Donald Trump’s controversial pick to lead the Pentagon wanted a giant globe used Gen. Dwight D Eisenhower during the Second World War to be moved into his office. Instead of waiting for historians to move the artefact, his staff tried to move it and broke it along the way, the Washington Post reported.
“It’s a perfect metaphor for the entire goddamn administration. Everything they touch breaks,” one social media user noted.
That last part is worth remembering. It’s truly a perfect description of Trump’s second administration. A pissed off bull in a China shop does less damage than Trump, or asshats in top jobs (Hegesth being the poster boy) have been doing. If a picture paints a thousand words the title pic to this surely meets that standard. Still, it shows a damaged museum artifact with some pieces scattered on the floor where Hegseth’s dipsh!ts dropped it. Here’s a better look at part of the damage.

As the linked article tells us the place where the Army office had the Eisenhower Globe on display was displayed assumed trained curators from the U.S. Army Center of Military History to handle moving the thing. Unfortunately those folks had been furloughed due to the partial shutdown. There’s a reason museum curators tend to such matters. They take precautions to ensure something doesn’t get damaged. However ‘manly man’ Hegseth do doubt figured his steroid and testosterone fueled tough guys were up to the task. Clearly they weren’t. To paraphrase a line from Blazing Saddles he sneered ‘We don’t need no stinking experts’ and sent a few dudes downstairs to bring him his prize:
With the professionals unavailable, Hegseth’s staff reportedly took it upon themselves to shift the artefact unaided. Disaster soon struck.
“They lost control of the artefact and dropped it, sending the globe crashing onto its base and impaling the fragile shell near Antarctica,” the newspaper stated and added the damage incurred amounted to a gash measuring several inches across.
Asked why Hegseth’s team had not simply waited for expert help in moving the fragile historical relic, a source familiar with the matter blamed what ensued on an “apparent lack of patience.”
Petulant Petey Boy was impatient to start pretending he was Eisenhower. To use that famous globe to regale visitors about where his ‘warriors’ were doing whatever he, the master strategist ordered them to do. My own active duty days were decades ago but this ole grunt would question the the dumbassery of the top guy at the Pentagon and worry he was doing worse than wrecking priceless museum pieces. As you know Hegseth has so mismanaged the Pentagon our readiness is severely degraded and the impact on our National Security will be felt for years after he and his even dumber boss are gone.
Anyway, now that the story of what happened is finally out there complete with pictures Hegseth tried to keep covered up social media is weighing in:
“This is emblematic of the whole Administration. There is no regard for history, protocol, etc. They really are the bull in a china shop. And there are two more years. I hope that globe, and the real one, can be repaired,” one X user stated.
“Crazy you can just request US historical artefacts to be in your office just because,” another added.
“He’d have only put ‘Gulf of America’ and ‘Lake America’ on it with a Sharpie anyway,” one poster joked.
I’m sure there’s lots more of that for those who care to look. Certainly NOT the kind of stuff Natalie will be printing out for Trumpty to read. Well, there’s more in the lined article and worth the small amount of time it will take to read. Yes, it notes that the globe is ‘in the process of being repaired’ but I don’t see how they will be able to fully restore it and hide the damage. Like the damage being done to our country it might be possible to fix some of it but the scars/cracks will be forever visible. I’d like to think Hegseth learned a lesson from this f**kup but I’m not holding my breath.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
