A great big rock got thrown into the political pond today and the ripples are still moving outward and outward. It’s just beginning to dawn on some people that what happened in Colorado when the state Supreme Court decided that Donald Trump had no place on the 2024 ballot, due to being an insurrectionist, is potentially a seismic event. One of the people having this Come To Jesus moment is Lauren Boebert. Her life just gets increasingly more complex. Just a few days ago Boebert took a lot of heat as one of almost 150 Republican members of Congress who voted in support of the annual defense authorization bill that will allocate $886 billion in Pentagon funding through the fiscal year.
This was a no no. Trump opposed this bill because it would extend Section 702 of FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) until Conservatives aligned with former President Donald Trump opposed the NDAA because it would extend Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) until the middle of April. As you may recall, Trump blamed FISA for a lot of things, including spying on his 2016 campaign. Ergo, this was not the politically correct thing for Boebert to do, but she’s on the ropes these days and needs to do whatever she can to survive. Here was her reaction to today’s event. A lot of Republicans are sick of her as well and they’re afraid that her incompetence is going to flip that deep red seat blue. And they may be right.
