Now, according to the reporters on MSNBC and Elijah Cummings, this is not “news” except to perhaps Donald Trump. The robbery purportedly happened Saturday morning, and after Trump’s noxious comments about Elijah Cummings and Baltimore generally. Really, though, when it happened couldn’t matter less. The only thing that matters is that an American president is now gloating when a United States congressman is victimized by crime.

Very hard to tell, but as you pick this apart, it sure seems to be fighting for that non-existent bottom. It is quadrupling down on his initial racist attack, and doing so in a manner that drips with vicious hatred. So, you have it all in one tweet, his racism on clear display, again, utter disgust for contemporary notions of sensitivity toward others’ troubles, vile hatred for anyone who opposes him, and an inability to be anything but pleased with his self-perceived greatness.
One benefit to all this, he is showing us who he is with all too much clarity. Some of us knew it all along. Now no one can state they are surprised by anything.
If this man is elected again, do not fear him. No, fear the country that reelected him, with full knowledge that he “rules” by his basest instincts alone. It also has the most powerful military known to civilization. Okay, fear him and the nation that reelected him. He, and that nation, together, are capable of near anything, without a bottom.

Democrats do not (and should not) assassinate public officials. Duels are illegal. No, you did not suggest either of those things, and I don’t believe you would. However, I have come to the point, however, of just how – by what means – we can be rid of this abomination, and I am not seeing a way – everything reasonable is blocked. The unreasonable is not on the table.
Impeachment is under way. Its first step is investigations by committees, and those are in progress. It’s not a speedy process at best, and in this case, too much haste would doom it. That may be our best hope, but it isn’t going to make it STOP NOW. What would?
