You want to know who I feel sorry for? Tiffany Trump. She’s getting married today and her psycho father is up with the birds posting utterly bat$hit untruths about the election and declaring war against the Republican party and the governors of two states. Now I don’t like any of the Trumps, make no mistake, but I do feel compassion for any gal in these circumstances on her wedding day. Oh, well. We’re not responsible for who we’re born to, right?

This is Trump’s announcement on the “real” state of politics in this country, now, wedged in among his QAnon reposts. Those are his only loyal followers who post love letters on Truth Social, the QAnon faction of MAGA, the dead heads who follow him rally to rally.

“Stand on the rooftops and shout it out loud!” “Big Victory.” The desperation and denial are glaring. The man is attempting to whitewash glaring defeat any way that he can. His grasping at straws and mewling “cheating!” is pathetic.

His attacks on DeSantis and Youngkin, whom he cleverly has rechristianed ‘Young Kin’ are the drivel you would expect. He made them, they couldn’t have won without him, they were nothing before he came along, he picked them out of the chorus line and made them stars because only he can do that, bla bla.

Then here comes the gauntlet hurled to the ground.

Never give up! Never surrender! Those are the words of Tim Allen, playing actor Jason Nesmith playing Commander Taggart of the star ship Protector.

There is no better metaphor for Trump seeking yet another go at destroying our way of life than Galaxy Quest, where a bunch of actors are thrust into the roles they play on television and expected to perform as though they were competent at them in real life. That is Trump to the tee. The only difference is that in the case of Galaxy Quest, we empathize because those players suddenly found themselves in roles they couldn’t possibly do in real life, whereas Trump actively sought the undoable in the first place and now seeks it again — because he doesn’t know how bad at it he is. The players in Galaxy Quest have some humility, Trump has none.

The GOP has nobody to blame but themselves for their monster rampaging across the countryside. They had three chances when they should have cut him loose. Three times. First the Mueller investigation, then the first impeachment arising out of the Ukraine “perfect call” asking Zelensky to get dirt on Biden, then a third time, the riot at the Capitol and Impeachment II. Every single time they blew their chance to get rid of him and instead, unified and rallied around him. Ironically, the right-thinking Republicans who said, “cut him loose” and who voted to do so found themselves primaried or driven out of politics by other means. Look at Liz Cheney. She’s been right all along and she’s a pariah now.

Maybe the GOP will get it right on Take 4.

And you know what? Earlier I said that I felt sorry for Tiffany. I retract that. If she was so  stupid as to schedule a wedding the weekend after the election, she lives in as much of a bubble as her father.

  1. Control of both chambers is control of both chambers. I will never minimize the reality of that. But Trump claiming a Senate win is really attenuated, at this point. The fact is, he’s the only one calling the Senate for the GOP at this point. And a razor thin margin in the House is nothing to crow about — we should know, we’ve had one ourselves.

The irrefutable fact is that this is the best midterm outcome a president has had in 40 years and Biden is quite justifiably basking in it.

    • It’s even worse when that “razor-thin margin” has such a deep divide that the not-completely-crazy faction might be willing to side with the Democrats to make sure the crazy faction gets buried. (Of course, the not-completely-crazy faction will be needing to watch their asses to avoid facing challenges from their own local crazies.)

  2. I don’t feel the least bit sorry for Tiffany Trump. Not one bit. There was a time when I would have but she chose her path and she chose badly. Who I do feel sorry for some is her mother (Trophy Wife #2 Marla Maples) who realized just how gigantic an asshole she got involved with and then married, and once she was out she took her pre-nup money and fought like hell to give Tiffany a decent upbringing OUT of Trump’s orbit. Sure, there was contact with dad and some participation at family functions but Tiffany was ALWAYS an outsider. Trump’s evil spawn with Trophy Wife #1 (Ivana) were firmly in daddy’s orbit having early on chosen him over their mother.

So Tiffany had a chance, A real one. She actually studied and worked and got herself into a terrific, high profile law school (Georgetown) and graduated. Given who she was you know she had offers, in part due to her mom discreetly calling up powerful partners in traditional conservative DC law firms, and probably NYC as well. Unlike most law school graduates, Tiffany was never destined for the apprenticship even top law graduates go through at elite firms – some cubicle working a minimum of 80 hours a week for the first year at least and maybe the better part of a second year. No, she was always destined for a small office and “only” having to work sixty or seventy hours a week like those who stuck it out through that early grind I described. From there, within a few years she’d have been a junior partner making quite nice money and since she was bright and hard working destined for a partnershp and big bucks well before she was forty. Or she could have really cashed in and parlayed it into a ridiculously high paying corporate counsel gig at a major corporation. Wal Mart for example. If she played it right she could have even “double dipped” keeping her name on the letterhead of her old firm and collecting some money that way too, and gone back whenever she wanted.

That red carpet, yellow brick road or however you want to describe it was laid out before her. A few more years of law school level work and she was set for life. Her mom had to have been both relieved and thrilled she did so well in law school and with the opportunties laid out before her daughter. BUT, Tiffany chose a different path. Baby Daddy Donald saw his chance to stick it to Marla and ruin her one seeming success (a well-grounded daughter who would make a life and name for herself separate from Trump) and he offered her huge bucks for an easy, no real work gig at the Trump Org. Like Wannabe Princess Ivanka she could “play” corporate executive and/or lawyer. AND SHE TOOK THE GIG!

Unlike her half-siblings Tiffany had spent most of her life in a much more real world and had some grounding in reality, albeit that of a rich & privileged person. Turns out she had some of the Trump gene in her. Enough that she chose what she thought would be the quick and easy path to great riches. Lots of money for little work. If and when the Trump Org. gets its comeuppance she is going to learn just how badly she screwed up. Oh, she’ll be able to get a job. But the really high paying career that would have led to a high level of respect is no longer there and never will be. She will at best get semi “Looked after” and that’s it. If that. Once Trump is done he’s going to find out just how lonely life can get. So will his family including Tiffany. I can’t help but wonder if she’s already looking at how Jarvanka has been shunned by the “next generation of fortyish “future Masters of the Universere/”Beautiful People” and think maybe, just maybe she should have kept her distance from the Trump Org and her daddy.

If her wedding is less than she hoped for due to the combination of a real life hurricane and a political one in recent days she’s only got herself to blame. She chose the date. Or maybe her daddy chose it as well as the venue which would be yet another sign to her how badly she WILLINGLY fucked up her life!

Don’t waste an ounce of your sympathy on Tiffany Trump. Her mom worked her own ass off to send her into adulthood outside the control of her father, to give her the ability to make a good life, a real and meaningful one unlike her siblings. It was Tiffany who said “fuck that – I can be rich NOW!” and turned her back on mom. And I hope there’s enough humanity left in Tiffany to notice how her Baby Daddy will gloat, taunting her heartsick mom with his “I won” bullshit! Tiffany doesn’t deserve sympathy, she deserves scorn. And to suffer for her choice.

    • Well she is marrying a VERY wealthy guy who obviously is blind to the perils of getting near trump, and at least for some years will not need to worry about having to get any ‘leg up’ on a real career. No doubt she will have a great pre-nup spelled out before she ties that knot & is basically set up for a life of wealth no matter what happens later. The one who is the idiot is the groom IMO but hey we are pretty silly when we are young, never being able to imagine how bad things can get later. – me included !

  3. I have no doubt her daddy will stand up at the reception and instead of toasting the bride and groom, will start whining and spouting off as if he was at another rally. He doesn’t give 2 fks about Tiffany. After all, she’s not Ivanka.

  4. Tiffany Trump is the only offspring of TFG who is worth anything and that is because her mother raised her far from her father. I can’t speak for Barron as he is still young. However, being brought up by Melania, he will undoubtedly end up just as corrupt as his father.
