So as we already know, tRump is threatening to pull out of NATO. An article stated that this could cause a constitutional earthquake. It’s not so easy to pull out of there as he thinks it is. He can’t just snap his fingers and have it happen like he did when pulling us out of the climate group.
John Yoo, a former clerk for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and the former deputy assistant AG, now a legal scholar (so we know he’s intelligent and experienced and certainly knows HIS business) warned about a couple of things, and I’m sure there are more.
And allow me to remind you that he’s going to want to re-do the treaty between Mexico, Canada, and the US – something he did just did a few years ago! It seems like he thinks running the country is like running a business – except HOW MANY bankruptcies has he had? And oh lawd have mercy if our COUNTRY goes bankrupt. Yet he’s trying to remove the debt ceiling limit. The man obviously has no idea of what that means and it WILL increase the US debt, and not in a good way!
I do not want to see, not even in an imaginary way, who will be running the country if the US collapses, which is an unfortunate possibility we need to be looking at. Trump is going to do his best to run the country into the ground in search of anything and everything for “ME”. And this clown is our president? There are some not good scenarios in my head for this. It’s hard to keep him in line and he’s pretty much going to be UN (not) restrained since he is putting all loyalists in his cabinet and not people with any sense. And as a total sideways step, please have the Senate NOT NOT NOT confirm Pete Hegseth and Tulsi Gabbard. Ugh, add another scenario – Tulsi brings Russia in after the collapse of the US. Oh, that’s ugly.
Well, this was all about the subject changes. I think I’ll stop now.

“And allow me to remind you that he’s going to want to re-do the treaty between Mexico, Canada, and the US – something he did just did a few years ago!”
The NAFTA replacement came into effect only in 2020, so if he wants to back out now, it will trigger some automatic arbitration clauses. More to the point, what sort of message does this send to the world?
‘Sign an agreement with the US to solve a problem, and we’ll drop the whole thing on a whim just after it takes effect, so you can never trust our word.’
Oh, I forgot, this is how he ‘does business’.
He’s trying to run a whole country like one of the businesses he bankrupted.
Which last time I checked was pretty much all of them.
Given the litany of crimes he has committed, been charged with, convicted of, and EVERYTHING he has said and done…yet the LAW, including Merrick Garland, Congress, and the Supreme Court have ALL FAILED THIS COUNTRY. The media played right along. Look what he’s done WITHOUT THE LEGAL COVER OF IMMUNITY…anyone who thinks he is worried about consequences, how things look, etc. are kidding themselves now that he DOES have all the levers in his stubby little hands. Better prepare yourself for a hell that makes the last nine years look like a walk in the park. When I was railroaded into the penitentiary, I had no fairytale expectations. I expected the worse and prepared myself for that. Luck and my willingness to act like a killer when necessary saved my ass figuratively and literally. Self deception would have been disaster and my life would have ended almost a half century ago. Instead I lived to hear a parole board admit the system did me wrong…even sending me a letter supporting a pardon. Now we’re all in harms way. Believe it. Timidity got people raped, stabbed, beat up, and terrorized when surrounded by wolves in the pen. I remember the Taylor Sheridan script of day of the solider where the female cop kept getting frustrated because of the special ops to flush out a top cartel member for assassination. The real assassin saved her and later told her to go back to the states where the rule of law still held,(optimistic). He told her to get out of Mexico because it was now a “land of wolves…and you are no wolf. You won’t survive”. You better get in touch with your fierceness. I already have been tempered in fire. This is no time for sheep.
Trump created major cracks in the NATO foundation during his first term but Biden repaired them. Still, the other countries took notice. They’ve been not so quietly preparing for the possibility of Trump getting back in the WH or some other clueless asshat who doesn’t understand or care about history and the importance of the NATO alliance to world stability and security. There’s an old sailor’s saying: Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red Sky at morning, sailors take warning.
Well, we are about to see the dawn of a new Trump Presidency and the sky is red. NATO and the free world at least has been trying to plan on how to weather the storm. Fortunately Russia is on its heels both militarily and economically these days. The question is what will China do? Will they reverse recent course and become more willing to prop up Putin/Russia because they see a a weakening of NATO and how it could weaken free Pacific countries with their own ties to NATO? That’s my concern at the moment.
And keep in mind Trump doesn’t like multilateral agreements. He’s simply not smart enough to process all the complexities which is why he wants individual agreements in business, and in international affairs as a politician. He just doesn’t have the smarts to see and understand all the moving pieces on the chessboard! This is where sane people in the Senate are going to have to stand up to Trump, and Vance too. Vance is objectively a smart guy but when it comes to politics and international relations he doesn’t understand dick. He’s perfectly willing to go along with Trump’s foreign policy agenda.
ETTD.
It’s a law that will still be in effect long after the prick croaks. When the next Trump comes along (and HE will) the expression will still be “Everything Trump touches dies” and THAT will be mango’s true legacy!
