This *might* be a rant. I know you folks have heard a fair amount about the blowup between Zelenskyy and the Orange Baby Balloon (how appropriate) yesterday – a blowup that I think was orchestrated by Vance. I really wanted to add a comment to the rapidly growing chorus of support for Ukraine. It’s not like Ukraine doesn’t appreciate all the US has done. But they are not going to stand by and watch their country being given to Russia. *Russia* started this war. Blatantly. They have fought *against* Russia because they have the right to govern themselves. They have the right to have their own country. They have the right to be themselves.
I don’t think that Trump and Vance need to force Zelenskyy into a cease-fire with Russia that means Ukraine loses themselves. I don’t think the US has the right to demand mineral rights in order to have assistance from the US. And those minerals are not easy to get to, which I think means Trump would demand Ukraine invest the necessary monies into doing this when they already have their resources going into the fight against Russia. If the US wants them, they should have to do the work to get them.
Why should he apologize when he is standing up for his country? He didn’t back down even with both tRump and Vance yelling at him. He then had to yell to make himself heard. It was not an insult – it was the leader of Ukraine standing up for his country. Kicking him out of the White House was pure bullsh*t. It’s as if the Mango Mandarin said “go away I won’t let you play with my toys any longer”. Really? That was childish behavior on the part of the US. How many people have forgotten that he’s a baby in a man’s body?
This is yet another sign of the US’s downward slide. It’s all about me, me, me. Our alliances, except for Hungary and Russia, have gone to hell. We are no longer the leader of the free world and we won’t ever be again. If we get a Democratic president they might be able to repair some of the damage, but only some. *If* we recover it will take decades of hard work. Whatever the Confused Carrot does, and has done, may be there permanently. How about ending USAID? That’s permanent. That was our first major step down. We don’t yet know how much else might be shut down but we’re getting some hints..
Zelenskyy knows perfectly well what tRump is trying to do. He’s trying to ingratiate himself with Putin. He’s admired Putin (and other dictators) for a long, long time. Why else would he have said “I’ll be dictator for a day?” A day? It’s looking pretty permanent to me. He’s already trying to find ways to stay in power the rest of his life. A senile tRump is frightening.
Zelenskyy will not go down that road. Mineral rights, and I’d be re-thinking that, or not. DonOld is a president. Zelenskyy is a president *and* LEADER. The Cheesy Poof Traitor Tot will never be a leader. He just thinks he is. Whatever Zelenskyy was before becoming president doesn’t particularly matter anymore, except to a few detractors. His country supports him and he *leads* now.

Good rant! And you’re right about Zelenskyy. He knows that Sphincter Face is just trying to get Putindaddy’s approval by handing him the gift of Ukraine’s valuable resources, probably with some form of enslaving Ukrainians to do the hard work of extracting the minerals for pennies a day. Sphincter’s first impeachment came about because of his corrupt pressure on Ukraine and here we go again, but without any Constitutional tools remaining to punish the corruption because Congress is “so proud” of Dear Leader!
I am already cringing at the behavior we will see from the Republicans in Congress during Dear Leader’s speech to the Joint Session on Tuesday! I won’t be surprised if some of them fall to the floor and start speaking in tongues!! Rapture!! 🤢🤮🤡💩
