The United States Naval Academy “Honor Concept of the Brigade of Midshipmen.” “Midshipmen are persons of integrity: They stand for that which is right. They tell the truth and ensure that the full truth is known. They do not lie. They embrace fairness in all actions. They ensure that work submitted as their own is their own, and that assistance received from any source is authorized and properly documented. They do not cheat. They respect the property of others and ensure that others are able to benefit from the use of their own property. They do not steal.” (emphasis added)
Take a look at the above, with particular attention to the three parts in bold. All of the service Academies in the United States including the private ones have honor codes. It all boils down to cadets/midshipmen don’t lie, cheat or steal or tolerate others who do. Walt Nauta served a twenty year career in the Navy as an enlisted sailor. A steward. Basically a cook who had manners good enough to serve meals to officers and higher ups which is how he wound up at the WH and Trump got to know him. Yep, Walt was even a Diet Coke fetcher. What matters is that both on active duty and after when he stayed on working for Trump Nauta repeatedly broke all three of the rules that are the backbone of the Naval Academy’s (and the other’s) honor code. Yet NOW, thanks to Trumpty he’s on the Board of Visitors and has a say in how the Naval Academy will be run. WHAT THE F**K?
Infuriatingly that’s now a stain (on Annapolis) of a fact which you can read about here in a short article from MSNBC. Nauta joins other Trump dirtbags like Sean Spicer, ‘Doctor’ (pill despenser!) Ronny Jackson and Wisconsin Rep. Derrick Van Orden who attended the J6 rally and was seen with the rioters (he claims he left when things got cray) at the Capitol as “Leaders” of those who would lead our troops in the Naval Service – the Navy and Marine Corps. You know what? I rather doubt the “middies” will look to Nauta (or the others) as an example of leadership they should aspire to. In fact many are wondering if they made a mistake in going to Annapolis in the first place! After all, we don’t see Trumpty appointing these kinds of sleazebags to West Point or the Air Force Academy.
Trump seems to have a grudge against Annapolis. Probably because John McCain was a graduate. Yes, Trump is that f**king petty. He’s a gutless, draft-dodging COWARD ChickenHawk and hates McCain for the heroism displayed during brutal captivity in Vietnam. “Cadet Bone Spurs” is way too easy a moniker for Trumpy-Dumpty. It seems Trump only wants people on the Navy’s Board of Visitors to be PUBLICLY in violation of every standard the Brigade of Midshipmen reveres.
Walt Nauta sure as hell is a lying, cheating, stealing punk who should be ashamed to even set foot on Academy grounds! Take a look at his bio. He wasn’t jack-sh*t as a sailor. There ARE enlisted Marines and Sailors who Midshipmen would in fact look up to. The service of some over time has been so distinguished that having them there offers a challenge of sorts – don’t even think about staying here if you aren’t fit to give orders to someone like this!’ It’s the kind of challenge that few who go through four grueling years before being Commissioned can turn down. Nauta and Jackson, both of whom served in the Navy are the kind of people that would and will be MOCKED. Spicer and the seditionist Congress Critter too.
Alas, lying, cheating and stealing are requirements to be part of Trump’s world. So we have to deal with this kind of crap:
On Friday, Trump announced on his social media platform that Walt Nauta, who was Trump’s aide for several years, will serve on the U.S. Navy’s board of visitors, which is officially tasked with overseeing “the state of morale and discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic methods, and other matters relating to the Naval Academy.”
Poor Irony. Trump just won’t let it rest in peace:
You may remember Nauta as the man who was allegedly caught on surveillance footage moving boxes out of a Mar-a-Lago storage room before and after the National Archives and Records Administration asked Trump to return boxes that contained classified documents. Nauta pleaded not guilty to federal charges that he conspired to conceal classified documents, and the Trump Justice Department dropped the case against him in January.
“Allegedly?” WTF? I believe the evidence of my own eyes which would have proved the case against Nauta in court had anyone other than Trump fluffing judge Aileen Cannon been assigned the case. Trump can spout his LIES but I saw what I saw as can anyone. Nauta is guilty as hell.
Naturally there doesn’t seem to be nary a peep from ‘Super-Duper Flag Lapel Pin sporting Republicans. Not even those who attended Annapolis themselves or one of the other Academies. Nope. Their careers in politics are FAR more important to them than protecting the integrity of cherished institutions. Including their Alma Mater. So Trump gets away with again trashing the Naval Academy. Oh how I’d love to see graduates, beyond the reach of the powers-that-be sneak in one night. Head to Worden Field (where the big parades are held) and break out the weed killer. Lay down prepared stencils with the names I’ve talked about, along with one below it, even bigger that says TRUMP SUCKS!
And Nauta? Having spent a career as a Steward he might want to avoid taking a meal in the dining hall. The Stewards at the Naval Academy aren’t any different than he was before he got WH duty. Most of them don’t like the infamy he’s brought on them. He might find the soup and tea put in front of him infused with Ex-Lax to give him the sh*ts, and Lasix (which I take every morning for fluid retention which affect my heart) to get him racing to the head before his pisses his pants! I for one think the Middies would rather enjoy the trail he’d leave running for the head (that’s bathroom) and have a well-earned laugh at his expense. Of course there’d be hell to pay for the stewards but one can always hope.
I’m just disgusted by this. Trump’s clearly got it in for the Naval Academy. It irked him to no end that distinguished graduate Jimmy Carter got such an outpouring during the ceremonies of his State Funeral. Got Trumpty to thinking about McCain again. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see him send a team to Annapolis to dig up McCain and toss his casket from the seawall into the Severn River. Just for spite.
I hope the time will come, as in 2028 when a Democrat is back in the WH and FIRES Nauta and others who aren’t fit to serve on the Board of the Naval Academy (and any dirtbags at the others) and replaces them with those who have served with HONOR. But for now, with all the worries about being homeless again in the months ahead this is what’s eating at me tonight.
