Now do you suppose that Natalie Harp shared this with Donald Trump? I say no, Natalie wouldn’t bother because it’s too sane, too logical. Trump only grasps a putdown and then he doesn’t understand it.
For instance, during Trump’s first rejoinder to the Cheesecake Factory anecdote, Trump went on a racist rant about how the White House must be clean, as if Black Obama would never grasp that. The fact is, Trump didn’t get the joke, he just knew that Obama had waxed funny at his expense and so he acted like a total child, telling Obama what a lousy president he was.
All that is neither here nor there. Trump’s cabinet didn’t deal with the joke effectively either, which is why Obama is having the last laugh and who laughs best, right?
I knew Obama wasn’t going to roll over and play dead after all the GOP pearl-clutching about his Saddam Hussein / Cheesecake Factory line, but even as a rabid Obama fan I didn’t anticipate the decisive squelch he delivered last night. I disagreed with many thing Obama did as president, but no one can beat him at campaigning. He hasn’t lost a step…
