Well, now, isn’t this interesting? The Mango Mandarin pulled tariffs off Mexico for everything that is in the USMCA, which is nearly everything. But they’re still “negotiating” with Canada. WTF? I know Trumpty has a hard-on for Prime Minister Trudeau. That’s ridiculous. Just because Trudeau kept correcting him on “Canada is NOT the 51st state” and “I am not governor” and generally abasing himself before tRump on behalf of his country are a couple of damn good reasons.
That would about choke me but Trudeau is handling it with grace under pressure. Yes, he intends to step down. No, he is not letting the Confused Carrot bully him, not about tariffs, not about his country. Canada’s Liberal Party will select its new leader on Sunday. In the time he has left in office, he isn’t taking any shit from tRump and I commend him for that. Canada is not the pushover that the Traitor Tot thought it would be and we know how much it irritates tRump because he won’t shut up about it. He actually doesn’t shut up in general but he’s really going off the rails about Canada.
Elsewhere in Canada on Thursday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford called for the countries to drop the threats and renegotiate the trade pact. Wouldn’t that be nice? It seems that Trumpty isn’t happy with the deal HE NEGOTIATED, to be throwing these tariffs and tariff threats around. I understand what the Ontario Premier is saying, but they don’t need to back down to a bully.
Trudeau has said that his country’s retaliatory measures will stay in place until the US rolls back *all* tariffs. He knows he’s giving people problems in both countries by doing so, but I feel he is making a point and I agree with it. News of a pause “aligns with some of the conversations we have been having with administration officials,” Trudeau told reporters on Thursday. “But I am going to wait for an official agreement to talk about (a) Canadian response.” He added: “It’s promising, but I would highlight that it means the tariffs are still in place, and therefore, our response will remain in place.”
Seems like a good idea to me since we know Agent Orange can’t be trusted as far as you could throw him, and considering how fat he is, he probably couldn’t even be gotten off the ground. Well, at least without breaking someone’s back he couldn’t.
Canada implemented a 25% tariff on over 1,200 US goods this week and has threatened to levy tariffs on over 4,000 more by March 25 unless the US removes its taxes on Canadian goods. And Ontario is implementing a 25% tariff on electricity exports to NY, Michigan, and Minnesota next week. The Ontario Premier said it really bothers him to have to do this, but. He also threatened a cutoff of all Ontario’s electricity exports to the US “with a smile on my face” if tRump’s tariffs on Canadian goods remained in place.
It sounds to me like Canada is not going to back down. They mean what they say and they are following through on it. I may live in the US but I’m firmly on Canada’s side in this. Our president is an idiot. Removing Mexico’s tariffs, this being a great source of fentanyl smuggled into the US, with less than 1% attempting to be smuggled in from Canada, is pretty blatantly a favoritism game. Remember it WAS all about the fentanyl. And it’s bullshit. Go Canada!

Under-estimate Canadians at your peril. They’re a free and proud people. They’re good friends and bad enemies. Canada’s not threatening the USA, but it’s being very clear that it won’t grovel before anyone, least of all Trump.

Then the salivating cheerleaders have to pretend along with him as their eyes shift to looking around to see if anyone noticed. But my favorite move of the MAGAs is when they put a new Golden Sphincter in their shrines to their godhead…”OMG! He’s a genius!
