I did not see this one coming. Not at all. As a matter of fact, I looked for “parody account” and signs that this was somehow AI and it appears to be legit. Katie Britt’s SOTU “rebuttal” was nothing of the sort. It was a statement of Republican grievances done by a junior senator who first off mentioned that her “most” important job was that of mom — lest she be confused with a professional woman, heaven forfend. Her delivery reminded me of high school speech meets that I attended back in the day. Except most of those were better. I’ll tell you why. The kids delivering those speeches actually believed what they were saying.
Whether it was the forced smile, or the forced anger, or the faux outrage, Britt didn’t manage to hit one genuine note. She also reminded me of how a teacher talks to a grade school kid about bad things, explaining the bad thing in terms that the teacher thinks the kid might understand. That is a no no of any kind of professional communication. Ask somebody who teaches Writing 101. You never write down or talk down to your audience. If you don’t use your own voice, you’ll never develop it into anything worth hearing. Katie Britt has no voice. But I guess this is the best that the GOP can muster on its last days on earth, before the new conservative party rises from its ashes.
She behaved as if she was the wife from the “Handsmaid tale.” How could any female voter say that woman speaks for them?

I’ll tell you what this reminds me of: I have known women who have one manner of behavior when around men and one when they’re just being themselves. What we saw last night was her “charming” or seductive voice. She should have used this voice, it would have played better. Phony is it. And it took Newsmax, my God, to call that shot.
And why is Newsmax doing this? That, I have not yet been able to fathom. I have water boiling for tea leaves and after I Windex the crystal ball, I’ll try to come up with an answer.
I was awfully uncomfortable watching her last night. Honest, I after a few minutes of her looooong “talk” I started looking to see if she was making like a P.O.W. in Vietnam who blinked out an important message in Morse code. I thought maybe she’d blink out “Hostage. Send Help” but maybe she doesn’t know Morse.
And speaking from her kitchen? What genius thought THAT was a good idea for a Party that’s desperate to regain support from college grad women Republicans who’ve abandoned the GOP in recent cycles? Well, at least they let her talk from the kitchen instead of sitting at a make-up spot in her bedroom preparing to tend to “wifely duties” for hubby.
Her rebuttal was like Tiny Tim as the headliner following Elvis as the opening act…….

Her speech had the same power as Mr. Mackey’s speech about drugs from Southpark…”drugs are bad umm…marigiwana is bad…umm. Don’t use drugs cuz drugs are bad…umm.”
Of course he later smoked pot and his head popped off and floated across the countryside.
I think she’s going to put us all on double secret probation if we don’t straighten up and fly right! Ummm.
Britt’s rebuttal was so fake, trad wife cringe it was actually quite disturbing. She almost out did MTG’s performance. MAGA was on full display with fake outrage and grievance performance. And the press was compelled to air it.
