The political world is waiting for the other shoe to drop. Controversial North Carolina gubernatorial MAGA candidate Mark Robinson had already set himself up for major criticism when he accused Martin Luther King, Jr. of being a “communist,” called pop star Beyoncé a “devil worshipper” said he missed the days when women could not vote, quoted Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler and referred to gay people as maggots. This is pretty much the dead opposite of what to do if you want to win friends and influence people positively, to paraphrase the title of the seminal self help book of that name. Here’s what’s brewing in the background today.
Confirming all of this. From what I’ve heard this one’s a real doozy and pertains to comments Robinson made on online chat rooms, tho the story could be about something else as well…#ncpol
Republicans across state waiting with bated breath for this story to drop https://t.co/DrrwDUyvpa

Today is the last day Robinson could drop out of the race, should he do so. With all the scandal that the man has created, his candidacy has not looked good so far. The bigger question here is this: could whatever story is reportedly about to drop about Robinson be so devastating as to 1) Force Robinson out and more importantly; 2) Wreck Donald Trump’s chances of prevailing in the state?
Let’s put it this way, Trump will be greatly hamstrung if he loses North Carolina. As a matter of fact, he may have no path to victory without North Carolina. It will suit the GOP right if it happens this way. Even Thom Tillis tried to tell them. He supported one of Robinson’s primary challengers.
Losing North Carolina could be a major blow to Trump. And it could happen. The pollsters are certainly going to love this development. And depending on how weird this anticipated story is, it certainly will be ad fodder for Harris/Walz.
The guy stole $3,000 from the Girl Scouts, spends all of his free time in adult book stores, paid for an abortion, runs a sham not for profit that steals funds from programs for the poor and told a church group that "some people need killing". What could THIS possibly be?

Point of correction, it was actually Yolanda Hill, the wife of Mark Robinson, who lost a Small Claims court case against the Girl Scouts. Terrific First Lady of North Carolina she would make, having been taken to court by the Girl Scouts.
Batshit. Another day in Trump world, another day when the political news is completely batshit.

I’m a native son, born six months before Ron Howard, in the New Willow Hotel in downtown Mt. Airy, the town Mayberry made famous. I went to the oldest state university in the country. I’m a tar heel born and bred, and, as our fight song says, when I die I’ll be a tar heel dead. He’s an abomination pure and simple. Although I gave Josh Stein hell for not filing charges against Meadows for voter fraud, while he was supporting the fascist that stole the 2016 election and screaming about voter fraud, he’s far superior to this Maga cult member. Hopefully this will sink him and the beatch running for superintendent of schools who called for Biden to be killed for treason. What a phucking country where demons rise to offices like these, paid for by the citizens. VOTE!
robinson has until today to drop out however the ballots for absentee and military voters are already being printed. Not sure what his dropping out would do except confuse a bunch of people who aren’t that bright to begin with. Maybe either result will be bad for don-old although I think if some other ‘pube can get on the ballot, he might win the state.
It just bumfuzzles me thinking on how this weird beard got nominated in the first place.
It’s sad and weird that so many of these type of people are getting into politics. None of them have any business being there. The only reason I can think of, is that too many people don’t bother to vote.
“Point of correction, it was actually Yolanda Hill, the wife of Mark Robinson, who lost a Small Claims court case against the Girl Scouts.”
So, why has Ms Hill *NOT* taken her husband’s last name like a good little wifey’s supposed to? And I have to wonder how she feels about hubby’s missing “the days when women could not vote?” Also, I’m kind of curious if Robinson is aware of just how stupid that comment is. I mean, women have had the right to vote for over a century. He certainly doesn’t look like he’s old enough to have lived in those days, much less be able to “miss” them. And does he remember how folks with his particular skin tone were treated back in those days? Maybe he just “wishes” women couldn’t vote but I’m sure there are certain areas of his own state where he wouldn’t feel, um, comfortable staying past sundown–even if the folks of that area voted for him because “R.”
