“A man who is his own lawyer has a fool for a client.” — English Proverb
Mike Lindell is going to prove up the truth of this maxim. Aye yi yi, what a show that is going to be. Lindell has no money to pay real lawyers so he believes that he will go into court and plead his own case. It’s going to be an unqualified disaster. But, it may well happen because Lindell claims he’ll “never settle” and so if and when he gets a judgment entered against him, he’ll have no one to blame but himself. Click into this tweet and then there’s a two-minute video that will play on the right hand side.
Oh dear lord….he couldn’t even make it through a deposition, can you imagine the shitshow that would commence in a courtroom?! He’ll be sanctioned and held in contempt for his behavior before they seat a jury.

If you somehow missed this piece on Lindell in deposition, click into it now. It is a howler. Lindell is abusive. He insults plaintiff’s counsel, calling him an “ambulance chaser” and an “asshole.” If he starts that behavior in a courtroom, he will be cited for contempt of court and removed by the bailiff. I frankly don’t know if a default judgment could be taken on those facts. I guess I’ll find out.
The tragic part of Lindell’s situation is that he’s a true believer. All the other right-wing clowns, Steve Bannon, Charlie Kirk, Stew Peters, just name somebody in that clique, all know the truth. They’re in the election denialism for the grift. That’s all it is. Ginning up the MAGAs into hysteria is better than working an honest job. Lindell, on the other hand, really believes all the nonsense about Italian satellites and software that “flips” votes. That’s why people like Hammer & Scorecard developer Dennis Montgomery were able to fleece him — and that’s why he doesn’t have money for lawyers now.
Take a look at Lindell beginning the deposition. It’s all in that blue link above. He’s really off the walls here. He just can’t take direction from this lawyer and all the lawyer is doing is giving boilerplate ground rules for the deposition. Lindell’s so strung out emotionally and/or chemically, that he hears it as personal abuse.
I keep tabs on a lot of the lawsuits filed after the 2020 election. Yesterday, I noticed a new filing in former Dominion exec Eric Coomer's defamation suit against MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.
Coomer filed a motion for sanctions against Lindell, because Lindell has been… pic.twitter.com/N80tzSlmPB

The lawyer, in asking for sanctions, described this performance as “combative, vulgar, disrespectful, non-responsive, evasive, and consistently loud.” Again, he’s not going to be able to pull that in court. He can play the victim all he wants to, but nobody is going to sit still for a repeat performance of this idiocy. Here’s a bit more, if you can stand it.

Lindell clearly lacks the composure, not to mention the analytical tools to present any kind of an adequate defense. I don’t know where this is going to go, but it is financial suicide if he doesn’t settle because he can’t stay calm long enough to put together any kind of a rational sentence, let alone a complete argument. And maybe financial suicide is how it will be. Restraint is also not a quality that Lindell exhibits much of. Judge Carl Nichols has set a February conference, to set a trial date, which could come as soon as the middle of next year.
To quote Donald Trump, “be there. Will be wild.”

The guy has absolutely no self control……first with drugs, then with the Big Lie, and now in a court of law.
Everything Trump touches dies.
Look on the bright side. Lindell ain’t Trump so when he starts acting up in court the judge can cite him for contempt and WILL throw his ass in jail which is where he will sit when court’s not in session. So we won’t have to hear from him. We will get more than we want from actual goings on in court since cameras will I assume be allowed.
I think pillow guy believes the courtroom will be a kind of forum. He probably thinks he’ll be able to spew his 2020 election lies to a larger audience. He apparently doesn’t realize the judge will be keeping him on topic under threat of contempt. Fool for a client indeed.
He is going to learn the hard way what it costs to have a temper tantrum in a courtroom. And he will.lose bigly. He won’t be able to pay those suing him.once he loses,, so there will.be liens in everything he owns. He is gonna end up.sleeping in a cardboard box and eating out of dumpsters, when what he really needs is time as an in-patient in a mental.hospital. Not sure if it is actual.mental illness or a personality disorder.
I do think that a judge should send him for a psych eval. And order substance testing. Although his addiction of choice appears to be MAGA, his behavior does look a bit… influenced.
I’m not sure if he’s a true believer or if he’s more like a compulsive gambler who bet a paycheck on a game, lost it and then blew thru his 401k trying to win the paycheck back. Like it may have started as true believer but when his company gets dumped by big box stores, why not drop it? I’m fascinated by abberrent human behavior and this guy STILL being a true believer is hard to square. I guess b/c I’m projecting my not-brainwashed-by -FoxNews thoughts onto Lindell.
Lindell is a true believer. He was singled out by christian grifters at a prayer breakfast and told that he has a special place in fulfilling god’s will. His past as a drug addict only fuels his current need to be that redeemed lost soul whose actions will be as epic as any other biblical story. Ben Carson was assigned the job of bringing him into the fold when they realized Lindell was the type to empty his pockets for the “cause of christ”.
