This is apparently what happens to politics when you let a TV game show host take over the helm of one of the major political parties. CPAC is meeting right now. The Conservative Political Action Committee used to be a gathering of the intelligentsia of the Republican party. You would hear conservative columnists of note, the likes of Mona Charen, Jennifer Rubin, that level of commentator, speak with various political candidates. There was some debate and erudition of issues back in the day. No longer. Now we have pinball. Whut? Take a look, I can’t make this stuff up. God knows I don’t need to even try.
MAGA should be classified as a psychological disorder.

Yes, somehow the January 6 Insurrection, one of the darkest days in our history, has been converted to a toy. And Donald Trump, we guess, is now a pinball wizard. Who knows who came up with this? Probably the same “mind” that conceived of the golden statue of Trump wearing stars and stripes — from which the Trump golden sneakers were fashioned. Talk about idolatry, look no farther.
Did Matt Schlapp scare people away from CPAC? Or, it’s just not MAGAfied enough to entertain people? After all, the brain trust of the GOP left long ago. What’s left is the Heritage Foundation figuring out a way to gut the Civil Service, and John Eastman, once a leading intellectual light in conservative circles is trying to avoid prison.
Almost as empty as the RNC bank account but not so empty as their souls.

This does not bode well for the continuation of the conservative party. This pretty much says it all. There is no conservative party left. There is MAGA and that’s who’s there, playing with Trump merchandise and pinball machines.
Do you remember this classic from 2021, shortly after the Insurrection? This is one of my favorite tweets of all time.
Kimberly Guilfoyle introduces “stripper fascism” at CPAC. I’m not a big fan — how about you? https://t.co/umbFaiNj85

While we’re here and talking about pinball wizards: Tommy thought he was the body table king, but along comes Trump and he’s handing his crown to him.
What’s next? You know we’re nowhere near hitting bottom, it’s only the last week of February. The Republicans are treacherous, the path dark and steep, Democrats have promises to keep and miles to go before any of us sleep. A lot of hard miles.

Oh, I dunno…it seems appropriate for a party full of people with the maturity of middle school kids, although in reality, the kids are actually more mature.
The empty cpac room pic makes me think the dim-witted daughter-in-law of trump’s emptied it with her statement “we get ahead and succeed by merit and merit alone”. You almost had to pick me off of the floor I was laughing so damned hard. She apparently hasn’t a clue what “merit” means nor how totally moronic she sounded after saying it on stage. I mean, F.F.S. even some magats would think that was a wee bit hypocritical.
Oh please, please send one to Marm A Lardo. I love the thought of Trump giving it a try, leaning on it to be able to shake the machine like I used to watch people do once upon a time. Why? Maybe he’d lean so hard his fat ass would cause the legs to break and the thing would collapse to the floor. And HE would collapse right on top of it smashing his ugle orange face through the glass! (A guy can dream can’t he?)
I’d settle for watching Pete Townsend or Roger Daltry kicking his ass.
Disgusting. Appalling.
