Chris Sununu is a Republican. But Chris Sununu is also a fairly decent guy, a lot like Larry Hogan, former governor of Maryland. New Hampshire’s governor speaks like a human being and sees Democrats as “Americans,” not the enemy. He has also been a good governor and is well-liked in his home state.
Now it looks like he’s running for president, putting the challenge to Republicans. Are they willing to consider someone sane?
From Florida Politics:
A potential political rival for Gov. Ron DeSantis acknowledged the Florida Governor has the momentum for a presidential run. “Obviously Ron DeSantis is looking to run for President, which is fine,” said New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu. “He’d probably win New Hampshire right now, without a doubt.”
Sununu spoke about the 2024 presidential election in an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union. Asked by host Dana Bash is Sununu was considering a run for President himself, he said “yes.”
He suggested most prospects will wait until later this year to make their intentions known. “I think other candidates will look to get in this spring or into the summer,” he said.
See? No cheap shots at anyone, no puffing his chest out, just a normal person giving his opinion on things. Speaking of which, I invite you to listen to him. He is refreshingly straight up. He sits there and speaks candidly, something that one almost never hears from any politician. Listen to his opinion of Trump:
“He's not really bringing that fire, that energy I think that a lot of folks saw in '16. I think in many ways it was a little disappointing to some folks."

And DeSantis:
.@ChrisSununu's 2024 strategy is clear, pit Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis against each other.

The guy should get in the race and really take a measure of the Republican party right now. He is busy governing his state, not burning books or fighting a culture war. If you made me vote for a Republican, it would likely be him. But more than anything, I want to see a Republican debate where Trump and DeSantis go round and round about the vaccine and “wokeness,” and Sununu talks about the budget and regulations without being angry and hating everyone.

On the other hand, it’s better for the Democratic side if the republicans are a disorganized, moronic rabble.
