If I had to pick one American as the most persecuted by the anti-science MAGA morons, it would have to be Anthony Fauci. Fauci is such a revered physician that he can walk onto any medical school campus and be greeted like a god. But in America, he likely faces death threats weekly. It takes a MAGA movement to turn a person who won the Medal of Freedom under George W. Bush – who continued to work another 15 years to be in place for the challenge of a lifetime, almost as serious as the HIV scourge.
Now DeSantis is featuring his “COVID Expert,” Dr. Jon Ward – who is, of course, a dermatologist, and everyone knows that dermatologists know more about vaccines than infectious disease specialists. Dr. Ward feels pretty strongly about Anthony Fauci.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been featuring anti-vaxxer Dr. Jon Ward at COVID-19 events as he positions himself for a 2024 presidential run. Ward said in a podcast appearance last year that Dr. Anthony “Fauci should face a firing squad” because of his work.
Ward is a Florida dermatologist who, as Politico recently reported, has become “a central figure in DeSantis’ Covid-19 events.” He appeared at a COVID-19 press conference with DeSantis on January 17.
In August 2022, DeSantis appointed Ward to the Northwest Florida State College District Board of Trustees. Ward has linked the death of Lisa Marie Presley to “Pfizer and Moderna” and told parents to lie to schools about their children’s COVID-19 history.
DeSantis is one of the favorites for the GOP nomination for president. If he wins the nomination, these are the type of people he’s bringing with him to advise people about vaccinations. This is the United States of America, a country that is supposed to be going back to the moon in 2025, and a possible future president has a whack-job dermatologist who thinks Fauci should be executed as his “COVID Expert.”
Fauci worked into his 80s, giving his efforts to this country, and he’s going to spend two to three years hiring attorneys and listening to Republicans yell at him because Republicans aren’t into science, and they were inconvenienced.

A fucking dermatologist thinks he knows about viruses? More to the point, he thinks he knows more than someone who has been involved with and studying such things literally all his professional life? Rand Paul has claimed many things against Fauci, blabbing nonsensical BS about various, “facts”, that Fauci had gotten wrong before, culminating in Dr. Fauci stating that Rand Paul did not know what he was talking about … To his credit. Dr. Fauci did not jump up and slap Rand Paul around, but stayed his usual calm and just said it all in that comment … The fact that these turds continue to harass Dr. Fauci, shows the lack of respect he deserves and has EARNED in many years of service …

So. A dermatologist. Does he do any actual medical care? What are his qualifications in epidemiology? How about in medical law?
One thing I’ve never been clear on about all this is, what did Fauci do? I mean, I know what he said that hurt their fee fees, but what power did he actually have to do anything about any of it? Wasn’t his role effectively advisory, with the individual state departments of health the ones taking actual action?
Too bad Mr Paul’s neighbor didn’t finish the job he started.
