#NoRonna is trending on Twitter as we speak. What an intense time it has been between when it was joyously announced that Ronna Romney McDaniel would be joining Meet The Press tomorrow morning and just a few hours ago when the Wall Street Journal announced that not only is MSNBC not putting her on the air tomorrow, they have no intention of ever putting her on the air.

NBC News was hit with widespread criticism for hiring former Republican National Committee chair McDaniel as a political commentator.

But according to a new exclusive article from The Wall Street Journal, the president of MSNBC isn’t interested in ever using her.

In an effort to “address employee and talent backlash over” the decision to hire McDaniel, Rashida Jones, the cable network’s president, reportedly issued an alert suggesting McDaniel wouldn’t reach MSNBC.

“Jones told employees the cable network has no plans to have McDaniel on the channel, according to people familiar with the conversations,” the report says. “A number of MSNBC anchors and producers have voiced concern internally about McDaniel’s ties to former President Donald Trump and the RNC’s role in his efforts to challenge the 2020 election results.”

My guess is that the anchors and producers got to management and said, “Are you out of your phuquing MIND hiring this woman and putting her on Meet The Press?” I truly believe that that’s the long and the short of it. And frankly, I would like to believe that maybe a lot of the star power on MSNBC threatened to walk, but maybe that’s too much to hope for.

These are but a handful. The internet has been rocking all weekend since Friday afternoon’s announcement of the wonderful Ronna Romney McDaniel bringing her seditious conservative voice to NBC News and also to MSNBC. As I said in a previous article today, this is Chris Licht redux. Whomever made this batshit decision to hire this woman is either on the street or pointed in that direction now, I fear.

The sarcasm got biting and this is a sampling of other NBC hires that were suggested.

How anybody can be a television news executive in this day and age and live in such a bubble that s/he couldn’t see the ramifications of hiring McDaniel is utterly beyond me. That’s the part that has me sitting here with my jaw hanging open but again, it’s the Chris Licht affect.

Show business is a business where people crawl into a bubble and die. I remember years ago reading how some Hollywood exec didn’t know that the Gulf War had started because he simply didn’t bother with news. He was only interested in what the trades had to say. It seemed incredible but at the time but after seeing the Chris Licht fracas and then this tremendous gaffe, it is beginning to make some sense to me why mainstream media is so out of touch.

Yes, as Anthony Scamucci said, the fish stinks from the head down (the actual saying is “rots” from the head down) and this decision not only stank, it showed that the fish’s head was already cut off.

Well, I guess Kristen Welker will find somebody to fill air time. How about Laura Loomer? There’s a conservative voice? Or Nancy Mace, but be careful, she’ll sue your ass. Or ask Donald Trump to sue it.

    • It was quick and it was INTENSE. Social media has been on fire with it since the New York Times broke the story yesterday.

  1. However much the buyout costs to dump her should be subtracted from the compensation of any executive that signed off on hiring her in the first place. You’d have thought NBC would have learned its lesson from the financial bath they took with Megyn Kelly. As for McDaniel I can’t help but wonder if she looked at that fiasco herself and figured she could make serious bank for simply signing her name, and maybe doing a few perfunctory appearances before outrage caused the network to buy her out. She never wanted (I think) to work for MSNBC. Nope. She knew they’d have to pay out a hefty chunk if not all her contract and she’d walk away with two things. A boatload of money, and a BIG victimhood card she can use to get a nice, fat contract with Fox. Or some other deal in the RWNJ world. We can only hope that she winds up indicted too, and has to spend some of those ill gotten millions on legal fees of her own.

    • You’re right. It would be interesting to know the contractual angle of this. Somebody at NBC is going to do a Chris Licht and rightfully so.

  2. Ursula you should volunteer to fill the gap! I stopped watching that show when Chuck it up Todd kept pissing me off. Sunday morning should be somewhat peaceful. I’m sure you would be more informative and more entertaining. You’ve already made it to Jimmy Kimmel’s show!

    • I didn’t physically make it there but Jimmy Kimmel did mention the site and my name. That was my two and a half minutes of fame. I am still entitled to twelve and a half more. I wonder if MSNBC would want a 71-year-old blogger with a porcelain bridge glued into her head, until she can save the rest of the money for dental implants.

Sure would be a major drag if the bridge fell out while I was on the air, wouldn’t it? :))

  3. Those tweets with suggestions missed a few. For example Steve Bannon as Managing Director, Sarah Sanders as 7pm host, Alex Jones from 8-10pm, Kari Lake at 10pm and to top of the night KellyAnne Conway to recap each day’s “alternative facts/news.” What’s that you say about Sanders and Lake? For multi-million contracts Bannon would offer them they’d give up elective politics in a heartbeat!

    • There you go. Now you’re in the spirit. See if you can get a talent casting job at NBC. You can’t possibly fuck things up more than the people who are already there.
