This goes back to something you have heard me say already, and will probably hear again.

Employees were fired from the Department of Agriculture over the weekend. We are, unfortunately, getting used to the random firings. Just think about how many more the media, and therefore we, have *not* heard about. It would be nice if more of this nonsense got “leaked”. We would have a better idea of what’s going on with the firings instead of being caught by surprise every time something *does* make the news.

Here’s the kicker. The people who were fired were those working on the H5N1, also known as the bird flu (which is part of the reason why egg prices are through the roof). That’s not exactly someone you want to fire. So now they are scrambling to get those employees back. Serves them right.

Why, why, WHY can’t they look at the organizations before doing something stupid like this one, or the nuclear people, or the FAA, or other things we don’t know about? Sure, there are a lot of cuts, but still, these random firings are not necessarily the right thing to do for parts of the government. Actually, I don’t feel like they’re the right thing to do at all, but I expect there are places that could be trimmed without too much trouble, much as I hate to admit it.

Another part that bugs me is the suddenness of all of this. Just *boom* you’re gone with no further information. I hope all these people are watching the news so they aren’t totally surprised by being fired. I wonder if they’re getting any sort of severance, insurance extensions, or other things like that. I’ve read numerous articles about the firings, but somehow we never find out about that. There are people who are going to really be hurt by this.

Last I read, they’re still trying to get some of the nuclear people back. And now they’re trying to get the bird flu people back. Well done, idiots. At least this is going to reflect badly on the Muskrat. It might not look too good for tRump, either. Of course neither one of them cares about that. So now we get to wait and see what the next over-the-top firings are. I’m pretty sure there are more to go. This should be fun. I’m just waiting.

Ha, just found this tidbit for my closing: “They need to be more cautious,” Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.), who is part of the Agriculture Committee, told NBC News of the Department of Government Accountability, which is the group carrying out the firings. “There’s an old saying, ‘Measure twice, cut once.’ Well, they are measuring once and having to cut twice. Some of this stuff they’re going to have to return back. I just wish they’d make a better decision up front.” Sound familiar?

*********And now, please read a message from our awesome boss*********

Friends, donations have dried up this week and we haven’t gotten any new subscribers. If you’ve already helped, thank you so very much. If you can help a bit, it would be appreciated. We are in a slough of despair with the generalized Democratic depression on top of Q1 revenue rates being the lowest of all year. Thank you. Ursula

  1. I saw on TV, a lady who was laid off and has no information on collecting unemployment or anything else. I don’t know if they are bothering with that, after the fact, if at all.
