How much would you want to bet that certain people were hoping to have something die a quiet death because of no follow-through? And how much do you want to bet that they weren’t expecting the issue to show back up today? This was likely an ugly surprise. Just like Petey Boy’s scandals, this isn’t going away. Congress passed the law. Time to pay up. From AlterNet:
Five members of Congress — Republicans and Democrats from both chambers — are demanding that Attorney General Pam Bondi provide a briefing and status update on the legally mandated release of the files related to deceased convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein by the end of this week, according to NBC News reporter Sahil Kapur. The Epstein Files Transparency Act (H.R.4405), which passed on November 19, requires the Department of Justice to release all unclassified records related to Epstein’s case by December 19.
Uh, oh. The foot-dragging is busted, and they are running out of time. At this point, *everyone* wants to see the damn things, and they are not going to be satisfied until we/they do. Sorry not sorry, folks. When Congress damn near unanimously passed this law, they should have read the writing on the wall. As Ursula wrote earlier, Patel has already blundered and said he’s going to delay as long as possible. Oops. There is many a slip between cup and lip. Remember, 1000 federal agents are combing through documentation. Makes you wonder if it’s going to be obvious where Trump is in the files, because it might be easy to tell depending on where the redactions are.
The lawmakers who wrote a letter to Bondi dated Wednesday and first obtained by NBC News are Sens. Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Ben Ray Lujan (D-NM), as well as the law’s lead authors, Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Ro Khanna (D-CA). “In light of the short 30-day deadline to release the Epstein Files, we are particularly focused on understanding the contents of any new evidence, information, or procedural hurdles that could interfere with the Department’s ability to meet this statutory deadline,” they wrote.
Yup. Congress hasn’t forgotten about it, and neither have we. It’s time for them to bite the bullet and release the damn things. It’s almost more fun to watch them dance around and bluff and bluster. They should have figured out by now that they can’t hold it back. The agents have been going through everything for literally months. We told them to give us the files and that the payment is due. Ha.
“In the interest of transparency and clarity on the steps required to faithfully implement the Epstein Files Transparency Act, we request a briefing either in a classified or unclassified setting, to discuss the full contents of this new information in your possession at your convenience, but not later than Friday, December 5th, 2025,” the lawmakers wrote. They also added that the law should be “fully implemented with critical safeguards to protect survivors,” as is written into the statute, and, according to NBC News, urged the Justice Department to coordinate with victims and their lawyers to appropriately redact names and protect their privacy.”
My, my, my. This is going to reopen that can of worms they thought they had soldered closed. The push from the inside of that can is meeting up with the push from the outside, and it’s ready to explode. Watch out for the flying ketchup bottles and the blustering and bs-ing to rage against releasing. It will be … educational.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

Maybe but I doubt it! I’ve already read a post, that says, most INFO has been REDACTED!
Yes. I suspect what is taking them so long is they’re trying to fill in holes where Trump was mentioned, without it being obvious.
