This is exactly what H.L. Menckhen was talking about at the beginning of the last century.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have lived to see it happen in our lifetimes. And what’s the most ridiculous of all is the fact that Trump keeps insisting that the cognitive test is some test of intelligence and/or competence, rather than a basic exam to see if the test taker is lucid and putting basic thoughts together.
Nobody can disabuse Trump of the notion that this cognitive exam he’s ranting about is an achievement, when passed, rather than simply showing that the person is functional at a basic level.
Unbelievable. How I wish H.L. Mencken was here to see his prediction come to life and to write about it.
