Tim Walz of Minnesota, wowed the 20,000 person crowd at Phoenix’s Diamond Desert Arena last night, getting them on their feet and dancing as he entered to John Cougar Mellencamp’s “Small Town” rocking the house. Taking aim squarely at the Orangutan and his obsession with crowd size, Walz unloosed perhaps the best one liner of the evening after setting the comment up with observations about recent large crowds in Philadelphia, Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Detroit…

A day or two ago I wrote somewhere on this site that I hoped John Mellencamp would allow use of his song Small Town for this campaign. Given his activism over the years I couldn’t imagine he’d have any problem with doing so. It fit’s Tim Walz like a glove. I still hope Mellencamp will ok a new video, adding in Walz images/scenes to the official one I posted recently. I would rock the house and the whole damn country at the Convention!
