If you didn’t know better, you would think that all the good vaccines were developed during the reign of the Mango Messiah and they all had an expiration date of January 20, 2021 at noon. And you would think that there are a range of brand new vaccines since that date, and that these newcomers are highly suspicious. At least, the same GOPers who were on the vaccine wagon a half year ago want nothing to do with the vaccine now.
Now in the real world, nothing has changed except the guy sitting in the Oval Office. But if you’re a Republican, that’s enough.

We all know the adage, “one man’s meat is another man’s poison” but how many men do you know who love a certain meat and then declare that suddenly it’s become a poison?
As has been said before, both on this site and elsewhere, it would be truly comical but for the fact that the GOP is killing its own constituents. That’s where he laugh dies out.
Florida is averaging 5,500 new cases per week. But they just love Trump and they love DeSantis. Alabama and Georgia also have high percentages of COVID-19 spreading. But let’s spread disinformation, because it is politically prudent to do so, and let people die.
It’s incredible to me that anybody can vote Republican. I truly marvel.
Rand Paul should have learned about vaccines in medical school. If he’s claiming they don’t work ore are harmful, his diploma should be rescinded and his license pulled for malpractice.
Considering he got his MD at Duke University’s School of Medicine and that school has one of the country’s leading VACCINE research facilities (Duke University Human Vaccine Institute), his disbelief in the efficacy of vaccines is a bit surprising.
Then again, he never actually graduated from college. He dropped out of Baylor before getting his Bachelor’s degree and went to Duke (which, at the time, didn’t require an undergraduate degree to be admitted to the University’s graduate programs). Maybe they covered vaccines in that year he skipped?
Rand Paul became an eye surgeon. I shudder at the thought that this asshole might have kept a connection to Duke University School of Medicine which is across the street from and has a close working partnership with the Durham VA Medical Center – where I had my own eye surgery! Paul did pass his Board Certification but threw a hissy fit over having to do a re-certification (given advancements many specialties no longer grant lifetime certification) so he created his own “Certification Board.” He and his wife just so happened to be among the small group that ran it. I wouldn’t go anywhere near this asshole’s office, much less let him operate on my eyes! Basically, I don’t think he’s trustworthy in his own specialty and as for public health stuff and vaccines he doesn’t know anything but what he learned a LONG time ago in medical school which wasn’t all that much back then.
He’s just another “I know a lot about this one thing so I’m an expert on anything I say I’m an expert on” asshole. And as I noted his expertise in his own specialty is open to question.
That should have been done a long, long, time ago given his statements on various health issues. I am left wondering-is an eye doctor a REAL doctor? If he is typical of the breed, then I have to say they’re not.
Well, it’s probably just about Paul. I would, however, avoid needing any ophthalmology work in Kentucky; the state does NOT require any board certification. (Paul got ticked off because the American Board of Ophthalmology had changed its certification procedures a few years before he got his certification. Anyone certified before 1992 could be deemed certified for life while anyone certified after that needed to be recertified every 10 years. He thought that was “unfair” so he set up an “alternative” system in 1997. He’d been certified by the ABO but let his certification lapse in 2005 and his own Board was dissolved in 2000 then recreated in 2005 and dissolved again in 2011.)
