What I’m about to say will sound like a cheap shot, but indulge me. There is a point to be made here. Elise Stefanik has packed on the pounds like nobody else in public life this past year — and that includes an actress who was pregnant with triplets. One can only assume that she’s been stress eating. A lot. What could be so stressful in her life? How about the fact that she sold her soul to Donald Trump — willingly — and now it looks like that’s not enough.
Kevin McCarthy is the enemy of the crowd that now identifies as being a part of, Ultra MAGA, i.e., the extremists in the House and Senate or what many simply refer to as the Lunatic Fringe of the GOP.
Elise Stefanik is happy to identify with the Lunatic Fringe. She’s overjoyed. She’ll do or say anything. anything, only don’t take her power away. Munch.

Alright, class, time for a quiz. What is Elise trying to do?
- Get McCarthy’s job when the MAGAs vote him out?
- Get reelected, and she’ll claim to be ultra anything to do it?
- Make herself invisible in the Amana standing freezer factory, where she intends to hide after the election, so she doesn’t go the way of McCarthy?
- Push Nikki Haley and Kristi Noem out of the VP running in 2024 and get on the ticket with Trump herself? (And she doesn’t know that Trump HATES fat women?)
- Eat herself to death?
Desperate times call for desperate measures and if Stefanik isn’t desperate, then I have never seen desperation before. There’s a saying in Hollywood, “Never be desperate when you go to look for a job. People can smell it.” Harlan Ellison went so far as to characterize desperation, “It hangs on you, like panther sweat.” I didn’t think I would ever compare Elise Stefanik to a panther, but it fits here, today.
