There is no low for this guy. He keeps going down. His latest stunt is disgusting. It was bad enough seeing a registered sex offender in an ad. But he’s heading toward the bottom of the barrel with the latest one. Vivek is not exactly the best person anyhow. But he won the Republican primary (whyyyy?), so now they are stuck with him. Let us fervently hope he does not win. He might bring up the Vance-Springfield BS again and make the town hurt a second time. That was uncalled for and disgustingly racist the first time.
His campaign has put out an ad that is repulsive toward his opponent. It’s regarding an issue that is many years old and is not at all relevant to being the governor of Ohio. Where and how they dug it up is a whole other question. Everyone does attack ads, unfortunately. It’s a fact of politics. No matter how much we would rather not see or hear them, they’re going to be used. It’s one thing if the ad is of public record. But something like this? No. This does not include Trump because he is a much larger issue.
Vivek’s opponent is a lovely lady named Amy Acton. They made an ad with her mother, who has been estranged for many, many years. She said that Amy lies. If so, how did her mother find out when they have not spoken for literally decades? But it gets worse, and there are readers besides me who will empathize.
With gratitude for Raw Story:
The video also leaves out key background. Arthur’s husband, Cledith “Bud” Arthur, was arrested in 1978 on a rape charge involving Acton as a child, and Arthur left the state with him, after which Acton and her brother went into foster care. She remained married to him until his death in 2004. In the video, Arthur says her daughter exaggerated her difficult childhood, but court records show he was charged and that Acton testified, undercutting Arthur’s 2020 assertion that he never was.
Yep. Who is more believable? Amy. It happened to her. There are records. There is proof. Vivek is unbelievable. Or whoever in his campaign decided this was a good idea. It’s going to backfire, and it should smear him all over a wall. It’s hard enough for a woman to talk about this, but a child? What is wrong with these people??!
Let’s hope she can rise above this. And let’s hope she wins. Vivek’s campaign needs to be slapped down. It raises the consideration that they may be getting desperate to come out with something like this. Election Day is coming – if you don’t do early voting, which we did. And we didn’t have to tell anyone to get out of the way. It’s sad that our country has come to this. It’s wretched what Trump has done. It’s getting worse. It keeps getting worse. Will we have a blue tsunami, and will we be able to do anything after it hits? Let’s keep hoping.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
