Must be that he thinks gold shows off his wealth, or some such thing, because this obsession with gold everything everywhere is ridiculous. It doesn’t matter if it’s real gold or not (read: the people who figured out how much of the Oval Office decorations came from Home Depot). President Donald Trump took to social media Sunday to brag about the front entrance of his luxury Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, a boast that came hot on the heels of an underwhelming jobs report that showed “weaker than expected” growth in the private sector, and one that drew pushback even on his own social media platform. “The Entrance to Mar-a-Lago!” Trump proudly boasted on his social media platform Truth Social, sharing a photo of the entrance to his resort, covered in gold-plated decals and trim.
Well, the place does seem to be his own personal palace, but ugh. The rest of us have no desire to turn everything possible to gold as he does, AND we don’t care about a place we can’t go to. Not to mention, although it’s going to be mentioned, that’s far too gaudy for us. There are a few small things in actual gold that we like and could afford, but all that gold? NOPE. And here’s the even more fun part:
Even on his own platform, Trump received some pushback from his supporters, with Truth Social user “George” writing that he’d “give a s— about your entrance” once they received a “tariff rebate check,” which Trump has repeatedly promised to award every American. That user previously expressed pro-Trump sentiments. //// “What do we do with this information Mr. President?” wrote another, Truth Social user “Eric Ochanji II,” who was apparently dumbfounded by Trump’s post. Similarly, that individual shared numerous pro-MAGA posts. //// And another, Truth Social user “Cheshiret,” simply wrote “who cares” Sunday. That person widely shares posts by top Trump officials. //// Trump has boasted about expensive decor in the past, infamously boasting about a refurbished bathroom in the White House with golden fixtures and a trash can back in October.
Yes, indeedy, ‘who cares’ about covers it. We don’t. And we know the tariff rebate checks aren’t *ever* coming, especially since they would explode the deficit. That’s just another lie of a promise. That’s the usual out of Trump. Lies, lies, and more lies. The people he wants to see him as incredibly rich aren’t likely to care that much about what the entrance looks like. It’s another boast, another ‘look at me’, another attempt to impress people and make them revere him. He’s really just a lonely, aging man who desperately wants to be liked, praised, cosseted, and told how wonderful he is.

It’s an ugly looking entrance made more so with the tacky gold accents. I’m not surprised Trumpty Dumpty wants people to see gold as they enter his tacky-assed resort. I however AM surprised the entire doors aren’t gold. Like this:
