I wanted to wait until Denis and Ursula had written their columns before I tried to write mine. They are much more experienced, plus I needed the time to think, and maybe calm down just a wee bit. Otherwise, it would have been a full-blown rant. I very much hope you have read theirs, and if not, please do. Also, disclaimer, this will be the longest column ever written by me, so you’re in for a treat. Kindof.
By the way, how many potential tourists for the World Cup are going to change their minds about coming here? We’re pretty sure a lot of people have changed their minds after the DHS bullshit about having your papers with you at all times, or folks who won’t be able to get into the country at all. That’s a whole other subject that never seems to get mentioned.
And now, this, THIS is yet another example of how our country has gone to Hell under Trump and his slavering sycophant cabinet. We are supposed to live in one of the best countries in the world, or rather, we were. Now we have ICE brutality, a rabid CBP boss who hasn’t learned from the court case he went through, and a “president” who cares for nothing except money, his image, and his devotion from MAGA, one of the most ignorant groups that has ever been citizens of the USA. Even when Trump lies, and it’s proven that he lied, their devotion is not diminished one bit. How this happened is an ongoing symphony of questions for the intelligent people in America.
And now? Now we have a woman dead for reasons that are complete nonsense, proven by multiple eyewitness accounts. I haven’t watched anything, and I’m not going to. My husband can do without breaking down into hysterics and then screaming as I would, and it’s safer that way. I apologize to those of you who are stronger than I, but I just can’t, just like I couldn’t watch the Charlie Kirk killing, or Trump being hit by shrapnel, and a person dying behind him. Instead, I read websites, and I’m mutherfckin angry, angry, angry!!! With gratitude to Raw Story:
Lawmakers were outraged Wednesday after an ICE agent shot and killed a 37-year-old woman driving in Minneapolis, and video surfaced differing from the Department of Homeland Security’s portrayal of the incident. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz issued a stern warning to President Donald Trump and his administration after weeks of sounding the alarm that the largest deployment of ICE agents in the U.S. was putting Minnesotans in danger. Trump has released a statement blaming “the radical left” and claiming the agent was in danger.
The agent wasn’t in any danger whatsoever. She had stopped, and she was pulling away, and he shot her. *Nothing* happened to any agent to cause her to be shot. Again, multiple eyewitness accounts said she had done nothing, no matter how hard her lowness, the disgusting ICE Barbie Kristi Gnome, and DHS try/tried to spin it. She was shot because he could. Well, people will figure out who did it, and then there will be holy hell raised, and hopefully, a trial for murder. Let’s have some more reactions that aren’t mine:
But other officials, including Walz, pushed back on those allegations. “I’ve seen the video. Don’t believe this propaganda machine. The state will ensure there is a full, fair, and expeditious investigation to ensure accountability and justice,” Walz wrote on X. //// Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey told ICE that it was time to leave after the woman, whose name was not released, was shot dead in front of her neighbors. “I have a message for ICE: Get the f— out of Minneapolis,” Frey said. //// Other lawmakers sounded off on the fatal ICE shooting:
“I am monitoring the tragic and fatal ICE Shooting in Minneapolis today, and will be closely watching as more information becomes available. ICE has spent the last year conducting authoritarian and community wreaking havoc. ICE agents have repeatedly shown a gross lack of training and disregard for law enforcement norms and constitutional rights. Now they have killed a woman in front of her neighbors. Today’s horrific events exemplify the consequences of their recklessness and incompetence. Get ICE out of our neighborhoods,” Rep. Doris Matsui (D-CA) wrote on X.
Ooooof. I like the mayor, just from that statement. He doesn’t pull his punches. ICE would do well to remember that. All sorts of people are paying attention to this, and there will be consequences. This isn’t going to go away, “no way, no how.” Brutality was bad enough. But murder? With multiple eyewitnesses? Oh, no, folks, expect a giant amount of whoop-ass.
‘I condemn this brutal murder in Minneapolis by ICE agents. There should be bipartisan outrage about this tragedy. The Republican majorities in Congress need to join with Democrats to demand reform and accountability. This violence cannot and should not be normalized,” Rep. Dwight Evans (D-PA) wrote on X. //// “An ICE agent shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis today. This Administration has raced to hire and deploy thousands of armed agents to American cities, without adequate training. This tragedy shows just how dangerous that is,” Rep. Greg Stanton (D-AZ) wrote on X.
“The latest scenes out of Minneapolis are stomach-churning. This is a terrifying escalation of violence, and these ICE agents must be held accountable,” Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ) wrote on X. //// “An American citizen was murdered by federal agents today. @StephenM, on behalf of Trump, is running and defending a rogue authoritarian regime. This is tyranny. ICE out of our cities now,” Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) wrote on X.
Okay, that was a big chunk of information, but it all needed to be included. I apologize for actually being quieter than usual on this. Please note that I have found nothing from any Republican at this time. That says a lot. And for those in upcoming midterms, this could be the last straw if they remain mute. This was murder, plain and simple. A woman was killed because he could. There was no assault on an ICE agent. There are *multiple* eyewitnesses. And there will be traumatized witnesses. And someone had best be running scared because he won’t be able to hide forever. Then there will be righteous anger, and hell to pay. I’ll bring the popcorn and the movie theater butter substitute. Y’all bring the drinks.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

‘video surfaced differing from the Department of Homeland Security’s portrayal of the incident.’
Or to put it more exactly, the truthful images of the facts happening as they did, exposed their craven lying as just that. Lies.
My husband and some friends all said they found at least 3 others that had been posted. I didn’t want to look so I let others do it for me. This has made me FURIOUS. And today I found 3 different articles just on Raw Story that talked about the Gnome trying to spin the story. She’s going to keep trying. However, I think she’s going down in flames. Too many witnesses and too many recordings showing that what she says are lies. Should be quite something to see what happens and I’ve only read a couple pieces here today. This is quite bullshizzle.
