Okay so Matty is getting to be old news, so this should be the last time you’ll see something from me about him. Heh heh heh.

There has been much fiery discussion after the House Ethics Committee released their report on Gaetz, and the DOJ *not* prosecuting him after all the investigation they did, for which there was much of the same information, as far as we can tell, since the case is secured as the DOJ chose not to prosecute.

Well, for one thing, I would guess the DOJ didn’t have enough of the “right” kind of information to generate a court case that would take up time and money better used elsewhere. They are quoted as saying this is a low priority issue. It’s not something that generally would be prosecuted unless there are additional significant aggravating factors. Besides, how were they to know the Committee’s report would be released? How would they know people would want to compare notes between the two? And again, how much time and money would be taken up that could be used somewhere else? Apparently, the lack of coercion was a gray area that partly led to the DOJ declining to prosecute, since it was a legal gray area.

It doesn’t matter now. Matty has gone down in flames. He’ll be perfect for his new job on OANN.

He is completely screwed in politics. I’m pretty sure not even a “low” court in a small town would take him on even just as a lawyer. I doubt any local county would even bring him on board as a member. So, it’s good he already had something lined up when he withdrew from the running for the AG position. And did he *really* think this would never get out? Someone somewhere would have slipped with their mouth and that would be all she wrote. I’d be willing to bet that even the Freedom Caucus wouldn’t take him back. They’re a bunch of jerks but they would protect themselves first without coming anywhere near the hot exploding potato that is Matty Gaetz.

I haven’t read the actual report yet, and I intend to, but some of the similarities I’m finding in different articles list things like prostitution, statutory rape, illicit drug use, and more. Yea, he’s going down in flames, and gee, Matty, I guess your (wretched) plastic surgery didn’t give you any help, either. You really thought you could get away with all of this. Wow.

And if your job at OANN fails, you’d be good for an HOA, right?

Hmm. After wading through the report I couldn’t help but notice he admits to illegal drug use and he owns a fire-arm.

Still it would be pretty petty to go after him for that wouldn’t it?

Maybe we should ask Hunter Biden?

  2. The issue, as in the case of so many rape and sexual assault cases is that victims are so often (if not damned near always) willing to testify in court. Even with some shield laws they know what’s coming from the defense. I can’t say I blame them. And when the defendant is a high profile person and worse has not just money but political power? THAT was why Gaetz didn’t get charged. DOJ had at least one victim who would have been good on the stand but she knew what would happen when her name (and so much more) got out. And it WOULD have. So without at least one victim willing to testify it’s understandable why prosecutors closed up shop on the case. But Gaetz was NEVER ‘exonerated.” He simply was able to use his money and power to bully witnesses into silence. Not the first time someone has gotten away with it nor will it be the last.

  3. Denis, you wrote: “The issue, as in the case of so many rape and sexual assault cases is that victims are so often (if not damned near always) willing to testify in court.”

I assume that you meant instead to write: ” … victims are so often … not willing to testify … ”

That is, you did mean to say that victims are often unwilling to testify, right?
