Where was I when politics in America started to go totally to hell? I know that small town politics have always attracted some strange characters, but generally speaking the higher you go up the ladder, the more competent people get. Those days are long gone if this guy is any example. Lt. Governor of a state?
Ladies and gentleman, I give you Mark Robinson of North Carolina reciting a death wish to his constituents, excuse me, his branch of the MAGA cult.

This is willful stupidity. This is not far away from advocating that we take the seatbelts out of the cars because they’re not comfy or that football players stop wearing helmets because they’re sweaty. If this guy is on a ventilator in an ICU — assuming he can find a hospital with a bed — in a month, I won’t feel sorry for him.
Here’s a thought from the African American community. If anybody thinks this is in poor taste tell me and I’ll delete it. I ask because the repetitive racist term puts me off but the sentiment of Robinson having mental problems is spot on.
I'm going to just go ahead and say it. pic.twitter.com/mgvVuRWHHy

My man here is a walking advertisement for the COVID virus to visit him in the very near term, and here he is saying getting a vaccine is tantamount to losing your job? Unreal.
I will add, this guy lives in North Carolina. COVID is running rampant in his state? pic.twitter.com/lKiidAuMac

The only way Robinson won’t end up in an ICU is if he’s already vaccinated and frankly, I think that’s the way the GOPers are playing it. They’re getting vaccinated in secret and then lying to their constituents about the vaccines and the virus. Now if somebody can explain to me what killing off ones constituents does for a political party, please do. This is dystopian sci fi, right here. Maybe the Darwin Award really goes to the Republican party.

Hmm.
I guess I’d say that it’s fair game for a politician to recommend we vote out legislators based on specific policy positions. Because definitely for sure, any Democrat he runs against for the rest of his life should recommend he be voted out based on his vaccine stances.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that, yes, his comments and position are morally reprehensible. But I appreciate that he’s being straightforward and honest about his immorality. Someone like Ted Cruz would be saying things like “I support vaccination as much as anyone but blah blah blah…” This guy is very clearly articulating that he doesn’t think government should care about public health, and I’m happy to wage a war of ideas on our position versus his.
Yeah NC is run by a bunch of alcohol drinking, smoking politicians throwing pot smokers in jail. At least we have a democratic governor to stop these evil Republican racist aholes. Unfortunately, stupidity knows no race. It’s a solid democratic institution.
He looks like he may have some pre-existing conditions, including the one that’s obvious but unmentioned: belief in magic/woo rather than science/medicine.
Welp, if this doofus ends up in the hospital and/or dead someone will have a merry xmas.
If ‘pube pols are getting their vaccines in secret and carrying on like N.C. doofus up there, do they not understand their base will get very, very ill and many risk dying? I do not understand their calculus. Not one bit.
