From parking lot lawyer to White House counsel. These are the MAGA-wrought miracles that the Mango Messiah can perform. There is no way that Trump’s MAGA crew would have gotten where they are on merit. This is the wonder of television and a lobotomized electorate — which is 49.7 of us, to be precise. And now we all get to pay her salary. I don’t know how much it will be, but it won’t be the millions Trump has paid his personal lawyer who lost the hush money case for him, Alina Habba. Behold the glad tidings.
Ain’t it grand? And so far this announcement has not been met with a lot of enthusiasm, shall we say.
Not a welcoming committee, exactly, but this is how polarized our country has become. We’re not all looking towards a party shift in control, which is the normal way of politics, we’re looking at a freak show with a reality TV game show host in the Oval Office. People didn’t get their fill, evidently.
We’ll see how many Americans die of what this time around. Or maybe fates worse than death, Trump may screw up so many programs that help people, sabotage so much that is good in government, to where we’re all hurting.
Or, alternatively, Trump may do nothing. The country might run on fumes for a while and then Trump and his cavalcade of clowns will come up with a rationale for what they are or are not doing. Inflation may spike and they’ll find a way to blame the Democrats, I have no doubt.
It’s impossible to say. We’re all in limbo now. It’s not a comfortable place to be. But we’ll be here for another six weeks or so. Oh well, it’s Xmas. Break out some cheer/anaesthesia.
His sheer ineptitude killed more than a million Americans last time round, and wrecked the economy, and separated hundreds of innocent children from their parents and ‘lost’ them in a policy so cruel it’s hard to comprehend – oh, and he took a basic civil right off half the population.
And thanks to his billionaire friends and their endless money, spinning facts into questions, lies, and what-ifs, he got voted back in as ‘The friend of his fellow laborers in the working class’ ‘fighting to keep the crooked, corrupt elites at bay’.
Beyond parody.
It takes a special type of stupidity to elect a billionaire, surrounded by other billionaires, on the platform that they’ll change the system that made them billionaires. Luckily for them, and unfortunately for the country, there appears to be enough stupidity around.
So will it be as bad as last time? Even without a pandemic, it’ll be worse – and there still might be another pandemic.
