For those of you who were cracking wise last week, after it was announced that Donald Trump might come forward and regale us with his views on race and unity, “And who’s gonna write it? Stephen Miller? HA!” Well, laugh not, that’s exactly what’s going on. American Urban Radio Networks:
George Floyd was laid to rest today in his hometown of Houston, with the eulogy delivered by Rev. Al Sharpton.
The White House is preparing a speech on race relations written by Stephen Miller, who crafted the Trump Administration’s immigration plan along the southern border with Mexico.
Vice President Mike Pence recently hosted prominent Black Conservatives at the White House to discuss race relations. However, the administration did not reach out to civil rights organizations including the NAACP, National Action Network, and National Urban League.
Now is the time to stock up on snacks and brewskies, because you are emphatically not going to want to miss one minute of an address crafted by a known hate mongering racist, delivered by a buffoon who lacks the basic intellectual and emotional depth to even grasp the problem of systemic racism — let alone offer a solution to it. And then there’s the fact that the buffoon’s son-in-law Jared Kushner aka “My Star” already fixed it, right? I mean, that’s what he said Monday, that it was fixed already, so why is Stephen Miller going to bother to elaborate on the subject?
It’s fair to say that the base doesn’t want to hear anything conciliatory and the rest of the world isn’t going to believe anything that comes out of Trump’s mouth, so what’s the point?
Now this is encouraging. Kushner and Meadows are on their way to meet with the token GOP black senator, Tim Scott.
WH officials including Meadows and Kushner heading to Hill to meet with GOP Senator Tim Scott to discuss police reform issues, WH officials confirm.

This is shaping up to be one hell of a brain trust, here, with Meadows, Miller, Kushner and now Tim Scott in the think tank. Back in February, it was reported that the Department of Justice was investigating allegations that Tim Scott procured a half million dollar grant so that one of his crony’s daughters could run an “assistance program” for human trafficking victims. Her offices were at her parent’s mansion, just by the by. Abuse of power, much? But, on the other hand, Scott is a Trump supporter and he’s black and he’s Republican, and he’s a senator, and those qualifications don’t attach to any other living soul alive right now, so tag, he’s it.
So now we get to wait for a race relations treatise, authored by a Nazi, and delivered by a bigot, reading off a teleprompter, in a phony monotone, because he’s bored on his ass. And this is supposed to help, how, exactly?
Let’s hope it’s good for laughs. If it wasn’t for the comic relief afforded by this administration, they truly wouldn’t have anything.

When is the speech supposed to be?
Weirdly, I am almost looking forward to this. I think this will be close to the final, self inflicted wound trump will incur upon himself.
Indeed. No matter what the take is, it will be one for the history books and the rhetoric books – as a horrible example.
??
Although for any of us the snarky comments write themselves. But (I swear) my very first thought when I learned about this earlier today wasn’t an actual snarky comment (at least of my own) but a flashback to an old, OLD Doonsebury comic strip. For those who aren’t fans, one of the cast of friends was the odd man out. B.D. was an ultra-conservative and the topic of the strip was Reagan as President. B.D. comments that Reagan will be “every bit as good a President as he was an actor.” One of the other characters (I don’t remember which) asks Mike (the title character) if he “wants to take this.” The response? “I can’t. It’s too easy a shot.”
If this actually happens however, and Miller is indeed the author of the speech or heavily involved in it for once I’ll actually watch Trump’s performance live instead of looking for the lowlights in the post speech commentary.
I actually know that Doonsebury comic. The comics used to be one of the best things about the Sunday paper. I think one of the great losses of the modern age is the basic demise of Sunday comics.
I suspected all along it would be Miller. I laughed when I read your headline. This is really going to help him NOT get re-elected.
I wonder what’s taking so long. Why not the Great Address, already?
Taking liberties with a quote Hunter S.Thompson wrote about Nixon…”if there were any true justice in the world, Miller would be in the belly of a hammerhead shark headed south of Easter Island”. even that seems a light sentence for destroying all these children
So how did that human trafficking victim nonprofit turn out?
Life’s good in the mansion!
Actually I am asking seriously. What finally happened? It seems like it was one of those outrage du jour stories that nobody actually cares about.
Miller on race relations?
What’s next?
Dick Cheney on honesty?
John Bolton on peace and reconciliation
Harvey Weinstein on building a constructive workplace environment.
To be accurate, it’s not a monotone.” It’s a “sing-sing delivery,” which is different. A monotone is a drone on one note. His keeps going up and down, up and down.
I hate that so much! He reads the sentence in a monotone until about half way through, then trails off. God I cannot stand him.
I don’t know if it’s even possible, but it seems to me it’s both sing song and monotone. He comes the two, to horrific effect.
Well, I’m sure Scott was their second choice after someone with a brain pointed out that Clarence Thomas might end up having to rule on some case with some connection to the Floyd matter and his words would be used in an overwhelming demand that he recuse himself or face the legal consequence of impeachment. (I can’t really see too many GOPers willing to spend even a quarter of their credibility defending Thomas against impeachment for sitting on a case in which he actually created a conflict on interest. And since we know McConnell doesn’t adhere to precedents that he himself created, he’d view losing Thomas as just another opportunity to let Trump name another Supreme Court justice. Granted, I’m positing a very quick turnaround time since it’s highly unlikely the Court would be hearing such a case before the elections but still . . . .)
How, possibly, can Miller write a teleprompter spiel, using 20 words that Trump knows well enough to not stutter, squinting to focus long enough …
Hell, Trump will fold and go off on his own rant, not able to convey any REAL emotions, he can only shout out stupid things his base wants to hear, grinning and smiles when he says something wonderful …
He’s going to mess up, THAT will be something to see, a stone cold, could not care any less about others person trying to convey understanding and positive actions … it ALWAYS has to be about him … take two anti bull shit tabs before the speech, anti gas after words …
Guppy lips LOVES the letter s as he draws it out of his words, and those lips curl into a snarl and snarky cruel words … cv cv c c c c c c c
hahaha Guppy lips!!!!! Perfect!
No, more like “carp lips.” Do Google image searches for both, and you’ll agree. It’s definitely “carp lips.”
Correction: “Authored by a Jewish Nazi…” For shame! That one of my people could be like him. Heartbeaking.
