The DoJ just won’t give up on the voter rolls. Well, Trump keeps pushing for it, and we know why! It’s all about illegal immigrants voting, and he’s going to try to blame them for his loss in 2020. Okay, that may not be correct, but you get the idea. He *still* thinks 2020 was stolen because of all sorts of nebulous circumstances he could blame, because he still can’t accept that he lost. Now it’s all about that lovely information.

Trump is so determined to get these because he thinks illegal immigrants are voting, and he won’t listen to “they can’t vote”. They can’t meet certain requirements. He’s pushing towards stealing midterms because he is scared to death (ha) of having a Democratic House, and he doesn’t want to think about how we are on track for a Democratic Senate with much better chances than there were at the beginning of the primaries. Early voting starts soon.

It looks like there are 4 states still pushing back, although it’s difficult to determine which ones they are. And over in Trumpland, at least 16 states will provide the full information. That would be Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Wyoming. That part is depressing, and we should be crabby that those states gave in, although Texas is definitely not a surprise. We should wonder about what the affiliations in those particular states were that they said yes. But that’s for another time.

We’re still doing well, with almost half of the states of America saying no and backing it up. If the same thing happens for those other 4, then it will be over half. That’s pushing back. That’s saying no; we aren’t giving you that information with the potential for screwing over the elections. That information is private and will remain so for the states that had the cases with the DOJ that were thrown out.

Some states are pushing back. Whatever Trump thinks he has up his sleeve is not going to work in those states. That gives us an advantage in over half the states because the remaining 4 states’ lawsuits should get thrown out just like the others did. Those will be free and fair elections. It will be harder for Trump to hijack the elections there.

For a bit of a breather, my regards to AlterNet:

In addition to trying to access states’ voter rolls, seemingly in order to purge potential anti-Trump voters, the president has also asked the Supreme Court to suppress mail-in voting by allowing the Postal Service to deny ballots to individuals who do not appear on Trump’s lists of accepted voters. Although the Supreme Court ultimately sided against Trump, the president has suggested other measures to stop Republicans from losing either chamber of Congress, including seizing ballot boxes, declaring a national emergency, sending law enforcement to polling places, and imposing stricter voter ID laws.

Pooja Chaudhuri, Senior Counsel/Deputy Legal Director at Democracy Defenders Fund, concluded, “When voters hear that ICE may be deployed to the polls, that mail-in voting rules are changing close to the election, a lot of voters might say, ‘I’m just not going to go out and vote.’ That could happen in many different ways. There are vulnerable communities — people may come from mixed-status families — they’re US citizens, but they might decide, “I’m not going to vote.” So one aspect is the chilling effect on voters that all of these actions would have.”

No, this will make us want to go vote. ICE can look all they want. Same for the police or sheriff. So many of us are determined to get out there and vote. We hope that our example will bring out more people to support Democrats. Our household is determined. We just didn’t think to ask about helping the polls with this potential mess. That’s frustrating.

Now, Trump voters staying home is fine with us, unless they are going to move across the aisle and vote for a Democrat. We’re fine with that, too. All of you readers at Pz know what’s at stake and will go vote. That’s for certain; no guesswork needed. And remember, the current score is States 24, DOJ 0. What a lovely thing to see.

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that, of all the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. His continual ‘pushing’ won’t better the resulting ‘shove’ he’ll recieve, that’ll perturb his position enough to really rattle his already flakey ‘guilded n grifted birds cage’ existence.
