This is from a fellow, Charlie Warzel, who writes a newsletter Galaxy Brain. It’s only a snapshot of a Montana ICU. You can multiply these two anecdotes by many thousands. How did we get here?
How many more of these stories do we need to read before we take steps to legislate away lies on right-wing media? Their hosts are all vaccinated. They’re doing it for a con. But people literally believe what they see and hear come out of the TV, even when it directly contradicts something else that they can see and hear being said by somebody else with different motives. And some people don’t stop to analyze and decide what’s right. And a lot of them are ending up in ICUs.
Apparently Americans are not mature enough to know when to stop dealing in lies for the sake of entertainment value. Or, maybe we’re just plain too stupid.
Anybody who is going to throw feces at a doctor should be thrown in the street. I have zero patience with this.
Montana was one of the states, along with Idaho, where mask burnings took place publicly. In Idaho one took place on the steps of the Capitol.
Why won’t they believe it’s real? I wring my hands and shake my head and despair at this. How can anybody with two brain cells working not believe that this is real?
And to top it all off, Ron DeSantis just hired an anti-mask, anti-vaccine skeptic to the post of state Surgeon General. There is nothing more important than carrying this lie forward, apparently. If more people die from COVID than from foreign wars, so be it. Apparently.
Someone said on TV the other day, I don’t remember exactly who, that these people will disregard doctors and scientists and listen to people who haven’t passed high school science class. This is how they are basing life and death decisions.
These people are mind bogglingly stupid and don’t deserve care.Ron Desantis should have feces spread all over his lying, Nazi face.
Love the ranting. Keep it up. Dead or abandoned children deserve our rantings, regardless of the opposition & call to take it lying down & talk ‘nice’.
They should be required to do a medical directive (living will) as a condition of admission to the hospital. It would get their attention. They also should have to do a medical power of attorney.

It really is a good idea – especially if you’re in a situation where things can go very very wrong.
The frightening thing about the horrible D in Florida and fog brain in Texas, is the total disregard for the children’s health … So far, the increased death rate in those places seems to be a product of natural selection, the limited intel sick people holding out ICU care for emergency surgery and operation theatres, makes for a huge investment of frontline nurses and doctors, their stamina has and will be tested beyond any norms …
A standing triage system should be maintained, treat the children first, break through vaccinated second, wheel the non-vaccinated out the back door to relax in an air-conditioned tent on cots with cushions/pillows, soothing background music, and last-rite priests.
A convenient back door in the tent to the refrigerated semi’s with lift gates for elevating all the gurneys to stack the bodies into racks, looks like thousands of dead-stick flyers in the south, their hogging the hospitals, is a huge drain on the hospital, supplies and especially the frontline workers … a cruel perspective, but these same non-vaccine/non-maskers are creating a hell for the children … the family unit no longer exists as it once did …
Thoughtless parents, claim, “not me- no shots no mask”, many times now dead one week later, boom, orphan kids …
Once again these people prove that you really CAN’T fix stupid.
Montana IS a sh*t-hole state and has been for years. There was a time when decent, high-quality medical care was available. Those days are long gone. If you have any kind of medical emergency, you would be well advised to travel to another state for care.
The state of the medical industry is just the tip of the iceberg. The educational system is cratering-primary, secondary and tertiary (the college/university system in MT is a complete joke). Every city the western part of the state is polluted and would rival Denver for its brown cloud if Denver still had that problem. The trout fishing industry is just about gone because of the hot, long summers-fish kills are a regular event. And everything will be getting worse in the near future because the people of this state insist upon electing idiot G.Q.P.’rs for governor and legislators.
It’s been sad to watch the degradation of what was once a beautiful and healthy place to live.
Did Denver get rid of its pollution problem? How? And when? When I left there in 1979 it was very much a thing.
