It used to be, not too long ago, that if you went around advocating the execution of the Speaker of the House and accusing the former Secretary of State of being a child murderer, you would pretty much be drummed out of polite society and absolutely out of the House of Representatives. But this is the era of Trump, still, and so newly elected QAnon congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is still there. But a California congressman, Rep. Jimmy Gomez, is introducing a resolution to have her expelled from the House. Good for him. His GOP compatriots are totally mute right now, hoping like the see-no-evil, hear-no-evil monkeys that if they just ignore the situation, it will go away. Raw Story:

Greene filmed a video of herself calling on Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to be executed. She spread theories that former Secretary Hillary Clinton was killing children and cutting their faces off to wear them herself. She also tends to “like” posts that involve threatening to kill FBI agents.

Republicans in the House and Senate haven’t condemned her comments.

“As if it weren’t enough to amplify conspiracy theories that the September 11 attacks were an inside job and the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was staged, a string of recent media reports has now confirmed that Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene had previously supported social media posts calling for political violence against the Speaker of the House, members of Congress and former President Barack Obama,” said Congressman Gomez in a statement from his office. “Such advocacy for extremism and sedition not only demands her immediate expulsion from Congress, but it also merits strong and clear condemnation from all of her Republican colleagues, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Her very presence in office represents a direct threat against the elected officials and staff who serve our government, and it is with their safety in mind, as well as the security of institutions and public servants across our country, that I call on my House colleagues to support my resolution to immediately remove Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene from this legislative body.”

Nancy Pelosi is a tough old broad (I say that with immense respect) and a veteran of many campaigns, but unless I miss my guess, this is the first time she’s had a freshman congressperson advocate for her summary execution. “Not acceptable” doesn’t begin to approach describing this. I hope that Gomez’ resolution is successful and some measure of sanity is restored to the House. That seems like a low bar, doesn’t it? Some measure of sanity? Not in the era of Trump, it’s not.

    • Yep. Tie them to her and rest of idiots. One way to expose their hypocrisy. Vote on the floor. Hard to expel, 290 votes for 2/3. Yeah, not gonna happen. Can’t shame the shameless. “Sin verguenza”. Sounds worse in Spanish for me.

Let the Republicans defend her and make sure to write down their votes.

  1. The problem is that the orange wannabe down in Florida supports her – and the rest of the Grand Old Pissants are scared stiff of offending the Trompador – so they’ll sit on their handsand just go “Tut-tut, you shouldn’t say things like that. We’ll overlook it this time (and probably the next few hundred times)”

  2. What worries me is that she actually had enough supporters/voters in her state to get her to the House. It’s a strange time in our country; Drumpf has elevated these nutjobs. I truly believe he’s working to destroy us just because he lost the election.
