Unfortunately, he is staying in Congress, so that far-right clique is going to be as rabid as ever. There are certainly other things he can do in Congress, but giving up that plum position, even if there isn’t extra pay involved, is hardly imaginable for him. Perhaps he has to cover up another scandal? And that scandal at Ohio State was pretty damn big. Plus, he is also stepping down from the House Oversight Committee.
Jim Jordan must have loved the power he had on that committee. He could send for almost anyone at any time. He probably did the same to his students and athletes. Having someone’s time in your hands is not a small thing. There seems to be a lot we don’t know about him, or rather, this person doesn’t. The fact that he’s essentially leaving *two* committees is strange. There is a lot more information on Wikipedia, if you care to look. It’s extensive.

Jim Jordan (R-OH) will give up his seat as the leader of the House Judiciary Committee after eight years with the gavel. sidelines of the GOP midterm convention that he doesn’t plan to seek a waiver of the GOP’s three-term limit for committee leadership of the Judiciary Committee. He also revealed that he doesn’t plan to return as the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, but he didn’t offer much reason why. “I’m just not going to do it,” Jordan told Politico.

And he’s a great buddy of Trump. Let’s just say “oh hail” and then not worry until if and when he throws his hat in the ring. If Trump and his name are toxic now, imagine what he’ll be like in 2 years. Ick.
